 TCIPC Customs, NNS Beecroft Reaffirm Commitment to National Security, Trade Facilitation The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Port Command (TCIPC), and the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS), Beecroft, have renewed their commitment to securing Nigeria’s maritime borders and facilitating smooth trade operations.  This was highlighted during a visit on Thursday, 27 March 2025, by the newly appointed Commander of NNS Beecroft, Commodore Paul Nimmyel, to the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Onyeka at the TCIPC headquarters. While welcoming the Navy Commander, Comptroller Onyeka emphasised the importance of inter-agency collaboration in ensuring national security does not take a backseat to trade facilitation. 200 DIED YESTERDAY IN A CHURCH BUILDING COLLAPSE IN AKWA IBOM STATE+LUCKLY THE GOVERNOR ESCAPED DEATH.{PHOTOS}.

                       Yesterday saturday the Governor of Akwa Ibom State,Mr Udom Emmanuel,narrowly escaped death as the building of Reigners Bible Chuech Int'l Inc,along Uyo Village Road,Uyo,the state capital,collapsed during service.The incident left about 200 worshippers dead.Sources said it took the efforts of the governor's security officers to whisk him away to safety.He was said to have sustained a minor injury.The governor was in the church attending the ordination of the church's Presiding Pasto,Bishop Elect Akan Weeks,when the building gave way few minutes before offering period.One of the aides,who rescued the governor,was said to have died at a nearby hospital where he was rushed to.A security who spoke to pressmen but did not want to be named,said many dignitaries who accompanied the governor to the church also died.Chief Press Secretary to the Governor,Ekerette Udoh,also sustained serious injury.It was gathered th...
