  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Blood Stains As Gunmen Bomb Ihiala Divisional Police Station In Anambra Hell was let loose between 12 midnight and 1am in the early hours of Wednesday 28th December, 2022 as daredevil gunmen invaded Ihiala Divisional Police Station bombing the  Police Division and Area Command  with rocket launchers and other missiles. Reports say damages done to the Police Division and the Area Command were indescribable and unquantifiable as bombs exploded in the compound while people who lived around the ill-fated police station scampered for safety in the dead of the night. It was equally gathered that there were blood stains in the premises but no lives were lost during the gruesome attack on the police facilities at Ihiala. Mother And Son Returning To Their Hometown In Enugu For Christmas D!e In Road Crash In Taraba A woman and her 20-year-old son have lost their lives in an accident that happened along Jalingo - Wukari road in Taraba State. It was gathered that Lolo Eucharia Onyeogaziri Obasi, 52, and her son, Richard Chidera, were travelling to their hometown, Awgu in Enugu State when the accident happened.

Auction: EFCC Invites Bids for Forfeited Properties Across the Country The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has concluded plans to conduct sale of properties which are subject of Final Forfeiture Orders. The Commission on Saturday December 24, 2022 publicly announced the commencement of the auction exercise with advertorial in major newspapers inviting bids for the properties. According to the Commission, interested persons or organizations have until 12:00 noon Monday, 9th January, 2023 to submit their bids. The properties consisting of 61 Units of Luxury Apartments, Plots of Lands and Apartments across the country are being offered for sale  in accordance with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004, Public Procurement Act, 2007 and the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery and Management) Act, 2022. PAPUA NEW GUINEA  Wednesday 28th December 2022. ROUND UP OF CHRISTMAS POLICE OPERATIONS IN CENTRAL PROVINCE. Acting PPC Central Senior Inspector Patterson Birigi said a prison escapee, jailed for killing his pregnant wife was recaptured by Central Police, in Nabuaka village along the Hiritano Highway on Christmas Day.   He said police also arrested several suspects along the Hiritano Highway for drunk and disorderly behaviour, but most of them were cautioned and discharged. He said while patrolling along the Magie highway from Hula to Gabagaba Junction and into Kwikila Station, members of Romeo 500 unit arrested two suspects for drunk and disorderly behaviour and grievous bodily harm. El-Rufai Wants Politicians Using Religion As Campaign Tool Punished The governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has stressed the need to punish politicians using religion as a campaign tool. The governor spoke yesterday in Kaduna at the commissioning ceremony of the head office of the Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development. He expressed concern over the way and manner some politicians were using religion and ethnicity to create division in their campaigns. He said the 2023 elections presented a unique opportunity for Nigerians to take religion out of politics. Unizik Student Arrested For Masterminding Kidnap Of Best Friend Days after flaunting money online, UNIZIK student arrested for allegedly kidnapping his best friend The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 400-level student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka for allegedly masterminding the abduction of his best friend. The suspect, Ndome Godsent Ogar, from the department of medicine, was said to have kidnapped his friend, a 300-level student from the department of Medical Laboratory. Details of the incident are still sketchy but according to reports, Ndome and his gang demanded a N4million ransom, which was paid. The suspect also reportedly kidnapped a primary one pupil in Umuanuka Otolo Nnewi and a ransom of N700k was paid before the child was released. However, he ran out of luck recently when he was nabbed by security operatives in the state. This comes days after he flaunted bundles of cash online. More photos below. 

THREE FRIENDS DROWNED IN LAGOS BEACH ON MONDAY. (PHOTO).

Three friends drown in Lagos beach Three men on Monday night drowned at Baracuda Beach in Ajah, Lagos. The men were said to have drowned after crossing to the deep part. It was gathered that one of the three men was first swept away by the currents while swimming. Two of his friends dived in to rescue him after a lifeguard on duty refused to go into that section of the beach. He claimed it was beyond the red line and unsafe for them to attempt a rescue. The two friends also got swept away by ocean tides. Permanent Secretary (PS), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said rescuers and paramedics were immediately deployed to the beach upon receipt of the report. “On arrival at the scene of the incident, it was reported that two beachgoers had drowned. Further investigation gathered revealed that two adult males died during a failed rescue attempt of a third adult male. “The lifeguard stationed at the beach reported that the victims had ventured beyo

Heart Breaking Moments, photos from the final funeral rites of the late Tunisha Sharma, the actress died by allege suicide on 24th December 2022, she played Ahankara in Ashoka Samrat and 2nd Zara in Zara’s Nikah. According to sources  #TunishaSharma died by suicide on December 24 on the sets of her show, #alibabadastaanekabul . She was found hanging in the makeup room. After her death, her mother, #VanitaSharma, blamed Tunisha’s co-star #sheezankhan for abetment of suicide. He is currently in custody and will be kept till December 28. The police are interrogating the actor and trying to find out what happened between the two that led the actress to end her life. Tunisha's mortal remains were handed over to the family last night. She will be cremated at Goddev Shamshan Bhumi in Bhayander East in Mumbai. Another source claimed she was pregnant that was why she took her life after one Mohammed Khan was arrested.
