 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

KDSG Security Update: Monday 12th December 2022.  Air Force neutralizes bandits, destroys camps across Birnin Gwari, Igabi and Chikun LGAs. In continuation of aerial patrols across Kaduna State, the Nigerian Air Force has reported that several bandits were neutralized and camps destroyed in the latest round of operations.  According to the feedback to the Kaduna State Government, aerial patrols identified and attacked an active location in Kasarami general area in Chikun LGA.  A bandits' camp was similarly struck with rockets and destroyed at Kofita and Kuyanbana Forest in Birnin Gwari LGA. Camps were also targeted and destroyed at Kuduru and Gonan Baturiya, and terrorists were neutralized about 4km west of Nabango.  While conducting armed surveillance around Karshi, Kerawa and Walawa axes of Igabi and Giwa LGAs, bandits were sighted nearly 6km southwest of Kerawa and promptly neutralized.  Close air support was provided to troops conducting clearance operations around Ligarma, Iga

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, performed the sod turning for the redevelopment of the oldest courthouse in the country, two years after the iconic colonial vestige was razed by rampaging hoodlums in an unrest that trailed a protest in October 2020. The courthouse is being reconstructed by Rebuild Lagos Trust Fund (RLTF) set up by Governor Sanwo-Olu in November 2020 through the Executive Order EO/BOS/2020. The Fund is saddled with the responsibility of rebuilding and restoring all State’s assets torched in the unrest. I recently lost a pregnancy, actress — Toyin Abraham reveals Award-winning Nollywood actress and producer, Toyin Abraham, has revealed that she recently lost a pregnancy. The actress opened up during an interview on Sunday night on Channels Television’s Rubbin minds with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu. She also said people usually ask her when she will have another baby despite having a son and a step daughter with her husband, Kola Ajeyemi, adding that when the time is right she will conceive and have another child. Abraham, who lamented how people body shame her calling her “fat” said she does not allow the negative comments and remarks get to her. She said she would rather block people who insult her about her body adding that most people make passive comments without actually knowing what others go through in real life. Tension In Ebonyi As Gunmen Enforcing Sit-at-home Set Market Ablaze Unidentified gunmen suspected to be enforcing the illegal sit-at-home, have set some markets on fire destroying goods and properties worth millions of naira in Ebonyi State. The incident which occured on Monday made people run for their dear lives as all businesses, offices were all shut down including banks. According to a source, he said “Town is rowdy right now. Suspect Apprehended for Theft from a Mkondeni Business  Date: 12 December 2022   On Sunday, Mi7 Armed Response was dispatched after an alarm activation at a Yarborough Road client’s premises. It is believed aluminum gutters were stolen from the premises. A description of the suspect was ascertained and patrols carried out in search of him. Today, while on regular patrols in the Mkondeni area, Mi7 Reaction Officers spotted a man matching the description. With assistance from their counterparts from another security company, Mi7 Reaction Officers apprehended the suspect. Upon questioning, the man admitted to the crime. The owner of the premises where the theft occurred was contacted and informed.

INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION  PRESS RELEASE  ATTACK ON OUR STATE HEADQUARTERS IN IMO STATE  The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Imo State, Professor Sylvia Uchenna Agu, has reported that our State Headquarters office in Owerri was attacked by unknown gunmen. The incident occurred at about 3.00am today Monday 12th December 2022. The attack affected the part of the building occupied by the Election and Party Monitoring (EPM) Department and one official utility vehicle (a Toyota Hilux pickup van) was burnt. The response of the security and emergency services (the Fire Service) curtailed further damage to the building and other assets of the Commission. No critical election materials were destroyed. The 75 year old suspect stated this in an interview in Awka when he was asked the reason behind such action. In his defense he said that he was only playing with the young girl and never intended to impregnate her. This is coming after he was arrested last night by the Nigeria Police Force with the help of the honorable commissioner for women and social welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo. Recall that over the weekend, a video of a 13 year old girl who was impregnated by her guardian went viral on the internet which prompted a swift response from the Women and social welfare boss.
