                The United States will sanction four current and former Burundi government officials,incuding the minister of public security,over ongoing violence in the country the White House said today monday.The White House said it has received multiple reports targeted killings,arbitrary arrests,torture and political repression by security forces in Burundi.The White House said Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza's pursuit of a third term in office has precipitated the crisis.The White House said the crisis has forced more than 200,000 Burundians to become refugees.The executive order sanctions Alain Gillaume Bunyoni,minister of public security,Godefroid Bizimana,,deputy director-general of the national police,Godefroid Niyombare,Major general and former chief of Burundi's intelligence sevice and Cyrille Ndayirukiye,former minister of defense.The order also leaves open the possibility of additional sanctions against those who have supported ...

KENYA'S PRESIDENT ''UHURU'',DECLARES CORRUPTION A NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT TODAY.

                                        Today monday,54 year old Kenya President,Uhuru Kenyatta has declared corruption a national security threat.He also announced a raft of measures to bolsterthe fight against the rampant corruption in the East African nation.The measures include vetting of customs and revenues officers,whom the government believes are denying the country revenue by taking bribes to overlook individuals and institutions tax obligations,President Kenyatta's regime has received massive criticism for not doing enough to combat graft.Transparency International ranks Kenya at a low 145 out of 174 countries in its index of perception of graft aong coutries.

KOGI GOVERNOR WADA,DECLARED A SEVEN DAY MOURNING FOR LATE AUDU.

                   Today monday Kogi Governor Idris Wada confirmed the death of Alhaji Abubakar Audu.Wada,who made the confirmation in a statewide broadcast to the people today monday said Audu died yesterday sunday at his Ogbonicha village in ofu Local Government Area of Kogi.The governor condoled with the family and people of the state over the demise,describing the late Audu as a man of the people who laid solid foundation for the growth and development of the state.He them declared monday as public holiday to enable the people,especially the civil servants to attend the burial and pay their last respect.Wada also declared a seven day mourning during which the national flag would fly at half mast and office activities scalled down.The burial of Audu had been shifted to from 11:00am to 4:00pm today,this is to allow his friends,relations and fellow politicians who are coming from far and near to witness the burial.
