 Court Jails Fake American, Two others in Kaduna   Justice A.A Isiaka of the Kaduna State High Court, sitting in Kaduna has convicted and sentenced a fake American,  Stephen Thomas to five years imprisonment.  He was jailed after pleading guilty to one-count charge bordering on impersonation by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.   His charge reads: “That you, Stephen Thomas (a.k.a Rolanda Collins), male, sometimes in February,  2024 at Narayi Kaduna within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court fraudulently impersonated one Rolando Collins (an American citizen) on Facebook and in such assumed character, cheated one Kate Stewarton (an American citizen) the sum of $100(One Hundred USD) and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 308 and punishable under Section 309 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law 2017.”   He pleaded “guilty” to the charge when it was read to him which prompted the prosecution counsel, M.  EFCC Re-arraigns Kwara Businessman, One Other for $10,000 Fraud The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Monday May 6, 2024 re-arraigned an Ilorin based Businessman, Chukudubeem Ezenwa on a five-count charge bordering on cybercrime, retention of proceeds of crime and fraud to the tune of $10,000USD.   Ezenwa, Managing Director of Chukudubem Apple Tech Limited was arraigned alongside Adeleke Damilola before Justice Evelyn Anyadike of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin.   The two defendants were first arraigned on September 23, 2021 before Justice Muhammed Sani of the same court.   Woman Dies On Flight From US Days Before Her 60th Birthday In Lagos The sad story of the death of a Nigerian woman, Yetunde Olubusola Salau who passed away on her way back to the country in anticipation of her planned 60th birthday has surfaced online.   She is said to have passed away aboard a Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta, USA to Lagos a forthright ago.  The deceased had shared invitations for her 60th birthday, but the celebration was never to be.  Man arrested after attempting to fire his weapon at a Pennsylvania pastor during sermon. The congregation at the Jesus Dwelling Place Church in North Badock, Pennsylvania were stunned when a man allegedly pulled out a firearm and aimed it at the pastor, Glenn Germany. The 26-year-old assailant has been identified as Bernard Polite. According to reports Polite entered the church around 1 p.m. on Sunday as Pastor Germany was live streaming his sermon.  How I forged MBBS certificate from OAU, says Lagos fake doctor who charges N150K for surgery A suspected fake medical practitioner, identified as Shakirudeen, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, has revealed that he charges N150,000 to perform surgeries on patients with a fake medical certificate from OAU. Confessing in a video on TVC, on Tuesday, May 7, he said in part: "I have worked somewhere as a nursing assistant for two and half years, the MBBS certificate from OAU in my possession is forged, I have only SSCE from Majidun Grammer School. "Nobody taught me how to perform surgery, but I used to help my boss then whenever he performed surgery. "After performing the surgery, the patient has been discharged home, and after like 3 months, the patient came back with police to arrest me. "The patients survived the surgery, but I don't know why she came back to arrest me. "I charge N150,000."

 CBN orders all PoS operators to register with CAC before July 7 The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has ordered all Point-of-Sale operators in the country to register their businesses with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in two months. This was revealed after a meeting between Fintechs and the Registrar-General/Chief Executive Officer, CAC, Hussaini Magaji (SAN) in Abuja on Monday, May 7.
