 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. ENFORCEMENT ON SMOKING IN PUBLIC,KICKS OFF IN AUGUST.

           According to sources,the Environmental Protection Agency {LASEPA}said with the effect from 17 August  2014,anybody caught smoking in public places in Lagos state will be arrested and prosecuted.LASEPA will hold a stakeholder's meeting tomorrow May 13 to sensitise people in compliance with the law which banned smoking in all public places in the state.The General manager of LASEPA,Engr Rasheed Shabi said ''When the smoking bill was signed into law by Governor Babatunde Fashola on 17th February 2014,six months grace was given to enable proper sensitization to be carried out before enforcement.With the passage of the law,smokers have been banned from smoking in places such as hospital,eateries,hotels,schools,creche,restaurants,bars,school buses,event centres and book shops.We have engaged hoteliers and told them to creat a place where smokers can smoke,but they can't smoke in public places.

                Accordingto sources,he forgot his Nigerian passport at home and he decided to make use of his US passport.The officer that attended to him drew his attention to the fact that his Us passport had no Nigerian visa on it with which would have been admitted into the country.The officer advised him to go back home to bring his passport.Davido and his body guards started a protest but at the end he was called to order.Read Davido's message below.

BOKO HARAM OFFERS TO EXCHANGE GIRLS FOR PRISONERS.

           The leader of the Nigerian islamist rebel group Boko Haram has said he will release more school girls abducted by his fighters last month in exchange for prisoners,according to a video seen by France press angency today.Around 100 girls wearing full veils and praying are shown in an undisclosed location in the 17 minute video in which boko haram leader Abobakar Shekau speaks,according to the French news agency.
