      The Ilorin Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Friday October 11, 2019 presented a sum of one hundred and twelve million naira ( N112million) recovered from treasury looters to the Kwara state governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. Speaking during the presentation at the office of the EFCC in Ilorin, the Zonal Head, Isyaku Sharu said the Zone which started its operations in Februar y has achieved a lot in terms of assets recovery and conviction of corrupt individuals. "We have 29 convictions and over N500million (five hundred million naira) recovery for both assets and cash; part of this recovery is the N111, 428, 891.00 cash recovered for the Kwara state government. "This recovery is from suspected Kwara state treasury looters. The suspects allegedly misappropriated landed properties of Harmony Holdings while others diverted funds meant for micro small and medium enterprises credit scheme.        Arewa Youths Forum (AYF) on Friday, October 11, 2019, decorated the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu with a medal of honour and conferred on him an award of excellence.       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Kaduna Zonal office, on Friday October 11, 2019 secured the conviction of six SIM swap fraudsters in Kaduna. The convicts are Okafor Samuel Obinna, Chigbo Pascal Chidi, Oha Chukwujekwu, Ahamefula Francis Izuchukwu, Ugonna Nelson Owete and Ikenna Henry. They were arraigned on the 10th of October, 2019 before Justice Mohammed Tukur of the State High Court sitting in Kaduna on a two count ammended charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretences. They had pleaded not guilty to the charges against them but later opted for a plea bargain.         A 45-year old man who was arrested in the early hours of today October 10th for defiling a 12-year-old girl, says he prefers to sleep with minors because the vaginas of older women are wider and unsatisfying.       President Muhammadu Buhari says that stricter laws are needed to prevent girls from being abused in our schools. In his reaction to the recent high profile revelation of sexual abuse cases in institutions of higher learning in the country, President Buhari said he is glad that the incident, exposed through under-cover news reporting at the University of Lagos, has spurred an amendment to our laws regarding the issue  in the National Assembly.
