 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites. A MAN STAYED UNDER WATER FOR 48-HOURS,PLAYED CHESS & EVEN RODE A BICYCLE,ON WEDNESDAY.{PHOTOS}.

     He is identified as 31 year old  Adnan Nassrat has succeeded in staying underwater for 48 hours. Next, he says he will try his best to break the Guinness World Record of six days under sea water next October. The 31-year-old Jordanian started the 48-hour attempt with a long dive in the gulf of Aqaba on Wendesday around three months after he completed a 24-hour stay earlier this year. To kill the long time and maintain his body temperature, Adnan played chess or rode a bicycle which was fixed to the sea floor.More photos below.

      1. Troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army in the ongoing Operation IDON RAINI Corridor II conducted a raid on armed bandits' hideouts in the general area of Jambrini Village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State in the early hours of 23 June 2018. During the raid operations several camps were destroyed and 20 bandits were neutralized. Three bandits were also arrested while some escaped with gun shot wounds. 2. The items recovered include: a. Four AK 47 rifles. b. One F 99 - Pistol. c. One PTT HH Motorola Handset. d. 111 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. e. Five AK 47 rifle magazines.  f. Two Dane guns. g. Three mobile phones.  h. One power bank. 3. The troops remain determined and committed to frustrating banditry activities in the area of operation.       The   Chief of the Air Staff   (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, in continuation of the series of visits being undertaken to assess and enhance the operational effectiveness of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) units across the country, on 23 June 2018, visited NAF units in Makurdi. The visit equally afforded the CAS the opportunity to visit the Headquarters of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) as well as interact with NAF personnel deployed for the operation. The Chairman House Committee on the Air Force, Honourable Samson Okwu, also accompanied the CAS on the visit. During the visit, the CAS and other senior officers were briefed by both the Joint Task Force Commander, Major General Adeyemi Yekini, and the Air Component Commander/Deputy Force Commander OPWS, Group Captain Precious Amadi. MAN WITH BULLET WOUND FOUND DEAD IN RELIEF MARKET NEAR ONITSHA,ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTO}.

     A 21-year-old man with suspected bullet injury has been found dead at the Relief Market, Okpoko, near Onitsha, Anambra State. The deceased, identified as Emmanuel Nwankwo, a resident of New Estate, Oba, was said to have been found by a member of the market’s vigilance group, Charles Ene, on Tuesday. Ene reportedly alerted the police, who came to the scene and took the victim to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident. He said, “Nwankwo was certified dead by a medical doctor at the General Hospital, Onitsha, where he was taken to by police detectives attached to Okpoko division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ibrahim Jauro.” Mohammed said the corpse had been deposited in a morgue for autopsy. The PPRO said preliminary investigation showed that Nwankwo was shot in the thigh, adding that expended ammunition was recovered from the scene. He said, “The Commissioner of

GOV. AL-MAKURA APPROVES 7 AREAS FOR CATTLE RANCHING PROGRAMME YESTERDAY IN NASARAWA STATE.

        Governor   Umaru Tanko Al-Makura   has approved Seven (7) different locations in the state for federal government, FG proposed ranching programme. The federal government had some days ago listed Nasarawa as among the Ten (10) Nigerian states for the establishment of pilot ranches. It is to start in the state and neighboring Benue. Vice President Prof.  Yemi Osibanjo  presented the plan in Abuja, to permanently solve the farmers-herders conflicts, which claimed thousands of lives over the years. According to reports, hundreds of people were killed this year alone in violence involving marauding herdsmen and local farmers across the country. In view of this, the state government offered the seven grazing reserves. ANAMBRA WIDOW WHO WAS RAPED & KILLED BY FULANI HERDSMEN BURIED AMIDST TEARS.{PHOTOS}.

       A widow who was killed by suspected Fulani Herdsmen at her farm in Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State - has been buried amid tears. According to reports, the woman identified as Rosemary Okuefuna who was still mourning her late husband - was raped and killed during the attack which happened last month in the community. According to some of the villagers who found her body, it was bel ieved that she struggled with her assailants before they overpowered her and snuffed the life out of her. There was a mark on the right side of her face which is probably as a result of a blow from a sharp machete. The traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Rowland Odegbo frowned at what has befallen the community, stating that since the incident happened, Governor Wille Obiano had set up a committee to handle the issue which paved way for the burial. He stressed that the herdsmen have caused a lot of havoc on the people, urging President Muhammed Buhari to do the need

        A trigger-happy policeman was beaten up and stripped Unclad after he killed a yet-to-be- identified woman at the Oba International market in Anambra state. He would have been killed if not for the timely intervention of other police officers who immediately stormed the area to rescue him.More details later and more photos below.
