 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                     Today saturday,the Nigerian Army said that it had put in place machinery to establish the true identity of a suspected leader of the Boko Haram sect,Jarasu Shira,who was apprehended last week in Borno and his believed to be the brain behind the abduction of the Chibok school girls.Major General Lucky Irabor,the Deputy Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole,disclosed this in an interview with NAN in Maiduguri.Irabor said that knowing the true identity of the suspect was to avoid past mistakes where individuals were arrested based on mistaken identities.''We have in our custody a good number of suspected terrorists that were apprehended as a result of our routine operations.One of those suspects is believed to be on the list of our 100 most wanted terrorists leaders''.However the army must ascertain the true identity of the suspect before final confirmation to the media.''There are other things we need to do to ensure that is he who we sai

LAGOS STATE GOVT,CONFIRMED 1 DEATH CASE OF LASSA FEVER YESTERDAY AND SEVERAL OTHERS INFECTED.

                     Yesterday friday,the Lagos State Government confirmed two more cases of Lassa fever in the state with one of the victims already dead.The development brought the number of Lassa fever cases in the state to three,including the index case at Ahmaddiya Hospital in Ojokoro part of the state.The Commissioner for Health,Dr Jide Idris,yesterday friday said the index case was responding to treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital {LUTH}.The second victim he said is a 36 year old lady,an indigene of Kogi State who was first discovered at Naval Reference Hospital,Ojo on January 18 before she was referred to Mainland Hospital the same day and has since been receiving antiviral medication.Idris said yesterday that her condition was stable and ambulating.The third case he said died because he presented late.He is said to be a 51 year old resident of Ilasan Lekki and indigene of Edo state where he attended a wedding ceremony on December 28,last year.He was initially a
