  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                  The Princess Royal has spent four days visiting China,to celebrate the strong and growing links between the UK and China.2017 also marks the 45th Anniversary of UK-China Ambassadorial Ties.Throughout the tour Princess Anne had the opportunity to see the work of a number of charities that she regularly supports including,save the children,The British Horse Society and the Whitley Fund for Nature.The visit was also a chance to strengthen UK-China relations in a variety of areas.The Princess Royal met with a number of local politicians,alongside visiting a range of universities,research centres and organisations.More photos below.

                     Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC.today July 7,2017 arraigned the former acting Vice Chancellor,Obsfemi Awolowo University,Prof. Anthony Elujoba and the University Bursar,Mrs Aderonke Akeredolu before Justice A.D. Oladimeji of the Osun State High Court sitting in Ede on a 7-count charge bordering on conspiracy,stealing,abuse of office and using position for gratification.The defendants were arraigned following a petition alleging that Elujoba,alongside the Bursar,diverted the sum of One Billion,Four Hundred Thousand Naira from the University's Fixed Assets and Endowment Fund without approval from the Federal Ministry and Governing Council of the University to pay some unapproved allowances from which he paid himself N7m {Seven Million Naira} furniture allowance.Justice Oladimeji adjourned the case to 11 July,2017 for hearing of the bail applications.Meanwhile the court ordered that the defendants be remanded in the EFCC cu

                               The Federal Government has flagged off a new shorter regimen for multi-drug-resistant {MDR} Tuberculosis treatment in Nigeria.The new regimen will reduce the time taken to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis patients from about 20 months to about 9 months.The Minister of Health,Professor Isaac Adewole,who disclosed this on Monday during the flag off of the regimen and the commissioning ceremony of the first extensively drug-resistant TB ward and fully equipped MDR ward in Ibadan,the Oyo state capital,also called on all TB sufferers to present themselves for treatment at the nearest Federal government health facility free of charge.One more photo below.
