 Shut Up If You Have Nothing To Contribute To Benue, Alia Blasts Ortom Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, on Friday, urged his predecessors including, Chief Samuel Ortom, to refrain from interfering in his administration, warning that he would not allow anyone to  destabilise his government. Our correspondent reports that Ortom while in his speech during his 63rd birthday anniversary marked with a public lecture in Makurdi on Wednesday advised the governor to sheath sword against Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, for the sake of development of the state.                  The Princess Royal has spent four days visiting China,to celebrate the strong and growing links between the UK and China.2017 also marks the 45th Anniversary of UK-China Ambassadorial Ties.Throughout the tour Princess Anne had the opportunity to see the work of a number of charities that she regularly supports including,save the children,The British Horse Society and the Whitley Fund for Nature.The visit was also a chance to strengthen UK-China relations in a variety of areas.The Princess Royal met with a number of local politicians,alongside visiting a range of universities,research centres and organisations.More photos below.

EFCC ARRAIGNS FORMER OAU VC,BURSAR TODAY OVER N1.4BN FRAUD.{PHOTOS}.

                     Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC.today July 7,2017 arraigned the former acting Vice Chancellor,Obsfemi Awolowo University,Prof. Anthony Elujoba and the University Bursar,Mrs Aderonke Akeredolu before Justice A.D. Oladimeji of the Osun State High Court sitting in Ede on a 7-count charge bordering on conspiracy,stealing,abuse of office and using position for gratification.The defendants were arraigned following a petition alleging that Elujoba,alongside the Bursar,diverted the sum of One Billion,Four Hundred Thousand Naira from the University's Fixed Assets and Endowment Fund without approval from the Federal Ministry and Governing Council of the University to pay some unapproved allowances from which he paid himself N7m {Seven Million Naira} furniture allowance.Justice Oladimeji adjourned the case to 11 July,2017 for hearing of the bail applications.Meanwhile the court ordered that the defendants be remanded in the EFCC cu

NIGERIA ADOPTS 'WHO' GUIDELINES,REDUCE TIME FOR DRUG RESISTANT TUBERCULOSIS TREATMENT.{PHOTOS}.

                               The Federal Government has flagged off a new shorter regimen for multi-drug-resistant {MDR} Tuberculosis treatment in Nigeria.The new regimen will reduce the time taken to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis patients from about 20 months to about 9 months.The Minister of Health,Professor Isaac Adewole,who disclosed this on Monday during the flag off of the regimen and the commissioning ceremony of the first extensively drug-resistant TB ward and fully equipped MDR ward in Ibadan,the Oyo state capital,also called on all TB sufferers to present themselves for treatment at the nearest Federal government health facility free of charge.One more photo below.

                 Lagos State Government today friday beat 35 other States to bag the prestigious award for the best performing State in the 2016 Hajj Operations in Nigeria.The award was one out of the six the State also won for its excellent performance throughout the duration of the 2016 Hajj exercise i Mecca and Medina.Other awards won by the State include Best State in Coordination of pilgrims airlift,Best State in E-Ttrack Management,Second Best State in pilgrims education and enlightenment programme,Second Best State in Taradudiyyah Exercise,Third Best State in coordination of pilgrims feeding.Commission {NAHCON},Mr. Fauad Adeyemi who presented the awards to the State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode at the Banquet Hall,Lagos House in Ikeja,said out of the eight categories of awards instituted by the Commission,Lagos won in seven.He thanked Governor Ambode for supporting the pilgrims and providing the necessary logistics that made the holy exercise not only worthwhile,but one that sto
