 SANWO-OLU HAILS LAGOSIANS ON SANITATION DAY The return of the monthly Sanitation Day on Saturday was successful- thanks to Lagosians who trooped out to clean their environment.  From Ikorodu to Badagry, Lagos Island and Lagos Mainland ; Alimoso to Ikeja and Agege, the turnout was impressive.  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would like to put on record the enthusiasm of residents who woke up early to obey the call for a return to a culture that made our state a healthy and clean place for all.  “I thank Lagosians who joined the call to clean up our environment as a sure step to good health,”Mr Sanwo-Olu said.   “That is patriotic; it is the Spirit of Lagos that we often speak about. We should continue to walk that path,” he added. A ''LASTMAN'' OFFICER,STANDING TRIAL SINCE 2010 FOR MURDER,WAS DISCHARGED AND ACQUITTED TODAY.

                      Today was a day of joy for a Lagos State Transport Management Authority {LASTMA} officer,Ganiyu Raimi,who was accused of killing a commercial motorcycle rider Clement Okoro at Oke Afa Isolo.Ganiyu Raimi has been in prison ever since the alleged murder occurred in 2010.He was discharged and acquitted by Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo of the Ikeja High Court.According to eyewitness accounts regarding the case,they said an argument occurred between Ganiyu Raimi and the deceased Clement Okoro,which led to a hot exchange of words after which Okoro sped off with his bike.Few kilometers away from the scene of the incident the deceased Clement Okoro started to feel unwell and was rushed to the hospital where he died.Ganiyu Raimi's colleagues who testified to the fact that through out the time which the argument lasted,the deceased never alighted from his bike and Ganiyu Raimi did not touch him at any point.While the third ...

FOREIGNERS ARE BANNED FROM PARTICIPATING IN NORTH KOREA'S PYONGYANG MARATHON,#EBOLA.

              According to some traveling agencies,they said that North Korea had banned foreigners from participating in the 2015 Pyongyang marathon because of the fear of Ebola virus.The Ebola virus outbreak in some part of Africa,had killed thousands of people and North Korea is afraid that by allowing foreigners to participate,there might be an outbreak in their country,since the game attracts people all over the world.The Pyongyang marathon will take place April 12,2015.Sources said ''North Korea began by enforcing strict travel restrictions on incoming tourists including a 21-day quarantine''.Well sorry to those who planned to participate,but Ebola virus is not a joke,and i don't blame North Korea for being strict.More photos below.                                                              ...

486 SOUTH AFRICAN MINE WORKERS,RESCUED FROM A FIRE OUTBREAK UNDERGROUND,IN HARMONY GOLD.

                          According to sources,the fire started yesterday sunday around 8am and initially some 200 miners were unaccounted for.All operations other than essential services at the mine had been suspended.The mine company spokeswoman Charmane Russell said ''All 486 employees have been brought to the surface safely.This is a credit to employees,unions,company and the efforts of the mine rescue service''.The fire started about 1.43 miles underground during maintenance on an air cooler at the Kusasalethu mine,a deep level operation west of Johannesburg that is Harmony's single largest gold producers.One more photo below.
