 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country. Sheikh Khalifa laid to rest at Al Bateen cemetery The late UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was laid to rest at Al Bateen Cemetery in Abu Dhabi, WAM announced. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, today performed the funeral prayer for late president at the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed the First Mosque in Abu Dhabi. They all prayed to Allah Almighty to inspire everyone with patience and solace on the passing of the late UAE leader. He was joined by members of the Al Nahyan family. Sheikh Mohamed and members of Al Nahyan family accompanied the body of the late Sheikh Khalifa to his final resting place at Al Bateen Cemetery in Abu Dhabi. Funeral prayers were held in mosques across the country after Maghrib (sunset). The President spoke Friday at State House, Abuja, while receiving in audience Hon. Albino Mathom Ayuel, Special Envoy of President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan. He told the Special Envoy of the situation this administration met on ground in the North East in 2015, and how great strides have been taken in comparison with present days. “We will study your situation, and see how we can help,” President Buhari said. Governor Soludo Asks Ndi Anambra To Take Back Their State Following the recent violence by criminals in Anambra, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been meeting with ndi Anambra in Diaspora to brainstorm on how best to take back the State. The most recent was his meeting with Ndi Anambra resident in Abuja where he reminded them that taking back their homeland from criminals who have laid seige on the state needs a collective action. According to him, no matter how comfortable one is in any state other than his homeland, one remains a refugee there and decried the attitude of those who are presently making the State unhabitable for citizens who now prefer to be wherever they are for their safety. He lamented that insecurity has become prevalent in the state thereby, forcing the wealthy to desert their homelands which are now being taken over by criminals in the name of agitation. MALAMI WITHDRAWS FROM GUBER RACE.(PHOTO).

Nigeria's Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, has pulled out of the Kebbi State governorship race.  Malami had in April declared interest in the Kebbi State governorship race. He also distributed over 200 exotic vehicles to party members ahead of the governorship primary in the state. On Wednesday, he submitted his N50 million nomination form at the International Conference Centre. Several sources close to the minister said he withdrew from the race over fear that he may not get the ticket.

 Kano Deputy Speaker Dumps APC, Joins Kwankwaso In NNPP  The deputy speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Zubairu Hamza Massu, has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP. Mr Massu, also grassroots politician in Kano South, announced his decision to dump APC in a letter addressed to Massu Ward chairman of the party. The lawmaker cited crises in the party and unjust treatment and lack of internal democracy. “The decision is mainly due to unjust treatment, inadequate internal democracy and the total marginalization of Kano South from a lot of opportunities,” he said in the letter.

EFCC Arraigns Lawyer, Six Others for Allegedly Stealing from Deceased Police Officer The Uyo Zonal Command of the EFCC, has arraigned Barrister Samuel Ebitu alongside six others, for allegedly stealing the sum of N13,171,415.25 (Thirteen Million, One Hundred and Seventy-One Thousand, Four Hundred and Fifteen Naira, Twenty-Five kobo), from the account of a deceased police officer. They were arraigned before Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, on two-count charges bordering on conspiracy, forgery and obtaining by false pretence. The six others are: Etimbuk Godwin Edet, Michael Jeremiah Isong, Sunny Isong, Godwin Ekanem, Emmanuel Jackson Isong and Harrison Ofuomah Emamoke. Specifically, widow of a late Chief Superintendent of Police, Godwin Edet Umoren raised a petition against the defendants for allegedly diverting the said sum of money from the account of her dead husband.
