  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. EDO: HUSBAND ARRESTED OVER DEATH OF HIS 5-MONTHS PREGNANT WIFE .(PHOTOS).

The Edo State Police Command has arrested an alleged wife beater, Vincent Emmanuel, over the death of his 5-months pregnant wife in Benin City, Edo State. Vincent, and his wife, Cynthia Emmanuel, 31, got married in 2019 and they were expecting their third child before the unfortunate incident occurred.  It was gathered that after allegedly be@ting his wife to death, on Sunday morning, July 17, Vincent tried to stage a fake sucide scene by hanging her with a rope.  He thereafter took photos and videos of her and sent to his mother-in-law.  According to a source, “The suspect was in the habit of physically abusing his wife even when she was pregnant.  He ran away after he sent the photos and videos to his mother-in-law. But he was later tracked down by the police and was taken into custody.   He is believed to have beaten her to death and staged her alleged sucide to evade arrest.” It was reported that the landlord heard the man beating his wife as usual but he ignored since it was almos

TANKER CARRYING DIESEL EXPLODES IN LAGOS.(PHOTOS).

Tanker carrying diesel explodes in Lagos Men of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service are presently combating intense Fire at an articulated Motor Park, in Otto Wharf, Mile 2 area of Lagos state.  A statement released by the agency says the fire started from a tanker carrying diesel that exploded at about 3:44pm.  It is unclear if there are any casualties from the incident. Anambra State House Of Assembly Holds Special Valedictory Session For Slain Member The Anambra State House Of Assembly today held a special valedictory session for their member, Late Hon. Dr. Okechukwu Isaac Okoye who was kidnapped and beheaded by unknown gun men in Anambra State few months ago. Late Dr. Okechukwu Okoye (Okey Di Okay) represented Aguata II Constituency from May 2019 to 2022 when he was gruesomely killed.  May his gentle soul rest in Perfect Peace, Amen.  More photos below.

Sokoto Court Sends Two Fraudsters to Prison for ATM Fraud Justice Mohammed Mohammed of the Sokoto State High Court has convicted and sentenced Abdulmajeed Habeeblah and Nana Hauwau Umar to three years imprisonment each,   for committing an Automated Teller Machine, ATM, fraud.   They were convicted on Monday, July 18, 2022 after pleading guilty to two count charges bordering on  criminal conspiracy and theft,  upon being arraigned by the Sokoto Zonal Command of the EFCC. $3.5M Fraud: EFCC Extradites FBI Wanted Internet Fraud Suspect to US A wire fraud suspect, Fatade Idowu Olamilekan on wanted list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation,  FBI, was on Thursday July 14, 2022, extradited to the United States for allegedly stealing over Three Million, Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars ($3.5M) worth of equipment in various cities across the US. His extradition was coordinated by the EFCC following a notice from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI New York, through the US Legal Attache for his role in impersonating various cities, state and academic institutions across the United States.  Fatade was indicted by a grand jury in the Southern District of New York for offences of wire fraud, interstate transportation of stolen property and identity theft.

YOBE: SEMA VISITS COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY FLOODING IN GUJBA AND GULANI ---Calls for Multisectoral response and collaboration.  In the last 24hrs, Yobe State Emergency management Agency received with shocked the devastating incident of flooding in some part Yobe State, the impacts of the reported flooding have assumed a threatening proportions, resulting in loss of lives and properties. Over 11 communities in Gulani and 1 in Gujba were affected by flooding as a result of a heavy downpour. The flooding has led to displacement of hundreds of Households across 11 communities in the 2 LGAs. Livestock and food reserves worth millions of Naira were swept away by the flood. Executive Secretary of SEMA alongside stakeholders from Gulani went round 7 out of the 11 communities to rapidly inspect the damages and Commiserate with Victims.
