 Govt extends search for fleeing 4,000 inmates to IDP camps …to comb villages, towns, environs of fugitive prisoners  The Nigeria Correctional Service has stepped up efforts to track down and recapture escaped inmates of the Suleja Medium Security Custodial Centre, Niger State, Saturday PUNCH has learnt. The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Thursday, said the government would relocate a lot of correctional centres to create better infrastructure and security. Tunji-Ojo made the pledge when he visited the Niger custodial centre, where 119 inmates had escaped following a rainstorm that damaged the facility on Wednesday. This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the Director of Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Ozoya Imohimi. The minister said it was imperative to relocate a lot of the correctional centres to a conducive environment. “This facility was built in 1914 to house 250 inmates. Anambra state governor-elect, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo has said that he would terminate all revenue windows in the state when he is sworn-in.  Soludo who spoke to stakeholders of the state in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area on Saturday, 22nd January, 2022 said he will use executive order to terminate theft of the state’s resources by revenue thieves. He also accused the Chairman of Anambra Internal Revenue Service, AIRS, Dr. David Nzekwu of distributing revenue windows to some people. Soludo said: “We learnt revenue windows are already being distributed. Is Nzekwu (State revenue boss) here? Awka Based Pharmacist, Mrs. Onuko, Cautions Mothers Against Unnecessary Medications To Their Babies An Awka, Anambra state based pharmacist, Mrs. Oby Onuko has cautioned mothers to desist from giving unnecessary medications to their babies less than twelve months old, as it causes damage to their livers and kidneys. Pharmacist Onuko who spoke to the ABS in her office in Awka, said that It is every mothers desire to ensure the wellbeing of her child, but regretted that some mothers, sometimes self-medicate their babies and in turn cause more harm than good to such children.  The medical expert noted that most mothers of newborn babies less than one year are in the habit of self-medicating their babies out of their own instincts, even when such babies are not showing any sign or symptoms for the need of such drugs, thereby damaging their livers and kidneys. Traders at the popular Total Market, Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area, are crying over their losses after fire razed the market and destroyed goods worth millions of naira. The incident which occurred in the late hours  of Friday, 21st January, 2022 threw students of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, into confusion as most of them, including other residents of the area patronise the market.  As at the time of filing this report, it has not been ascertained the cause of the fire or if any life was lost, as people were seen trying to quench the inferno. Some of the traders who arrived at the scene of the fire could not hold their tears as they watched their shops and goods destroyed by the ravaging fire.
