 Outcries Over State Recognised Vigilantes In North-West   The security outfits established by various state governments, especially in the North-West, are being accused of indiscriminate arrests and killing of suspects, as well as innocent people without recourse to judicial processes, findings by Daily Trust Saturday revealed. But those charged with the responsibility of managing the outfits have debunked the claims of extrajudicial killings, though some admitted what they described as “overzealousness” by some of the operatives. It was alleged that in some states, long lists of suspected bandits, their supporters or sympathisers have been arrested and ultimately killed, and such acts are allegedly being carried out without recourse to the police and other law enforcement agencies. I’m Now Obi-centric, Says Kenneth Okonkwo  The actor-turned-lawyer spoke in an Arise TV interview where he responded to allegations by APC supporters that fans of Peter Obi are leveraging empty internet sensationalism that can’t translate to actual votes at the polls. Obi is contesting for president in the 2023 election under the Labour Party (LP). FLOOD SACKS THOUSANDS OF IDPs IN BENUE Thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Makurdi Local Government Areas taking refuge along North Bank Camp situated in Makurdi Metropolis have been displaced following a heavy downpour in the last three days. Our Correspondent who visited the IDP camp yesterday (Thursday) discovered that the entire tents erected by UNICEF, UNDPA and other Humanitarian Organizations with thousands of occupants have been taken over by the flood. One of the IDPs whose entire tent and family have been displaced appealed to Government and other well meaning organizations to assist in providing a befitting place of abode to IDPs in the state, and as well act appropriately on managing all the IDP camps in the state. Anambra House Of Assembly Passes 2022 Revised Budget Of Anambra State.  Anambra State House of Assembly has passed the 2022 revised budget of Anambra State for the services of Anambra State Government for the year ending 31 December 2022. The House passed the budget during plenary after the majority leader of the House, Dr. Nnamdi Okafor moved a motion to that effect which was seconded by the minority leader, Honourable Onyebuchi Ofor after the consideration of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation on the budget, which was presented to the House by chairman of the committee, Honourable Obinna Emeneka.  On his part, Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Uche Okafor applauded Anambra State House Assembly committee on Finance and Appropriation for doing a thorough job on the revised budget as well as members of the House for painstakingly passing the budget and read out the budget to the House, while the legislators supported it through a voice vote.  Earlier,the

Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos with a prosecuting witness, Dein Whyte, an operative of the EFCC continuing his evidence even as the court dismissed the defendant’s objection to the forensic evidence earlier presented by the witness. Fashola is standing trial on an 11-count charge bordering on credit card fraud brought against him by the EFCC.
