 Fuel scarcity bites harder in Abuja, Ondo, Osun, others • Independent marketers sell PMS between N625 and N799 per litre There is no succour yet for motorists and other petrol end users despite the Thursday statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) that it had resolved the logistic problems that sparked the supply crisis. Reports from across the country yesterday showed that many filling stations had no fuel to sell. Some sold over and above the threshold of N650 per litre while motorists and other buyers besieged the few ones that sold within the range of N600 per litre. While many petrol stations in Lagos sold fuel at the normal price and queues were not noticeable, it was a different story in the industrial town of Ota, Ogun State where some filling stations hiked their pump price to N799 per litre. A MAN WAS ELECTROCUTED TO DEATH TODAY IN KADUNA STATE.

            Today sunday morning according to the NAN an unidentified middle age ma was electrocuted while he was trying to steal electric cable at a power supply installation in Kaduna.The incident happened at Accra Crescent by LEA Primary school,Unguwar Rimi.The raditional ruler of the area,Dan Iyar Unguwar Rimi,Alhaji Muhammad Gidado,confirmed the incident and he said the corpse of the vandal was evacuatd from the scene by the police from Unguwar Rimi division.According to him,the vandal was unknown to them in the area and urged law enforcement agencies to step up patrol as the community has suffered from the activities of vandals lately.He explaind that the deceased tried to steal the 150mm four core up riser cable at the distribution sub-station along Accra crescent when nemesis caught up with him.The police said they are investigating the incident with a view to arresting the collaborators of the act and preventing reoccurrence.One more photo below.

            According to the Nigerian police Complaint Response Unit,who shared a report about a complaint they received about a fatal shooting incident involving a Police and three male persons in Ketu Lagos.CSP Abayomi Shogunle,Officer in Charge,Complaint Response Unit {CRU},Force Headquarters Abuja said ''I have read the fatal shooting incident involving a Nigerian Police Force Mobile Policeman and three male persons in Ketu Lagos yesterday 26.12.2015.The killer cop would have been charged to court in 48hrs had him been alive; IGP Solomon Arase's directive regarding cases like this.The Commissioner of Police Lagos State is personally leading necessary response in this case.We are monitoring all actions been taken at NPF CRU.All should remain calm''.One more photo below.

                 According to the Nigerian police who shared photos of their visit to the motherless babies homes on their official social media page with the caption ''Christmas visit to motherless babies home Abakaliki.On the 21st of December 2015 the Commissioner of Police,Ebonyi Stte Police Command,CP Peace Ibekwe Abdallah with other senior officers were at Motherless Babies Home Abakaliki on a welfare visit.Also the the River state Commissioner of Police,CP Musa Kimo visited orphanage homes in Port-Harcourt in line with the directives of the Inspector General of PAolice,IGP Solomon Arase to all Police Commands to share gifts especial with the less privileged.More photos below.                                                                                                                                                            

FIRE OUTBREAK IN SOUTH AFRICA YESTERDAY,LEFT 8 PEOPLE DEAD & SEVERAL OTHERS INJURED.

                According to CCTV,eight people were killed and 19 others were displaced in the early hours of saturday morning across Cape Town when their shacks in were engulfed in flames.A total of three men,three women and two girls were killed in four different areas.One woman and a girl died in Utisig,Elsies River just after midnight.In Delft,a man and a woman were killed in Keisi court.Around three hours later,a man and two females aged 13 and 19 were killed in Mfuleni.Another man succumbed to his burn wounds around 6:30 in Vrygrond.The fire left 19 people displaced.The city's disaster risk management centre could not immediately provide about where the displaced residents were being kept and whether they intended on rebuilding their homes.One more photo below.                       

BENIN PRIME MINISTER ZINSOU,WALKED AWAY UNHARMED AFTER HELICOPTER CRASH YESTERDAY.

             Yesterday Saturday according to his daughter,Benin Prime Minister Lionel Zinsou walked away unharmed after the helicopter he was travelling in crash landed in the north of their country.It was nbot immediately known why the Prime Ministers helicopter made the forced landing in the town of Djougou,where he had been due to meet local people.His Daughter Marie Cecile Zinsou who is also a member of her father's communications team wrote on her twitter that  ''My father is fine.There were no victims in the helicopter accident in Djougou.He is safe and sound as are all the other passengers''.Lionel Zinsou,an economist and former investment banker,confirmed this month that he will stand for president as the candidate of the ruling Cowry Forces for an Emerging Benin {FCBE} party in election next year.One more photo below.                                                                                           

FIRE DESTROYED RIVER STATE MULTI-BILLION NAIRA BANANA PLANTATION YESTERDAY.

             The River State Government multi-billion Naira Banana plantation located in Sogho in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State yesterday Boxing day was set on fire by suspected arsonists.The Multi-Billion Banana Plantationinitiated by the administration of Chibuike Amaechi,which is operated under the Public Private Partnership with an Israeli firm has the potential of providing employment for about 2,000 of Rivers people and for Agro-research.Witnesses said the fire started yesterday saturday afternoon,and pointing accusing fingers to unknown arsonists.Dr Mesua Wilson Nwibari,the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Tai Local Government Council who confirm,ed the incident claimed that a woman who was farming near the vast plantation put fire on her small portion of farm land and uncontrollable harmattan fire spread the fire to the Banana farm.He ruled sabotage as a possible cause of the fire.

THE DEAD BODY OF A FEMALE KIDNAP VICTIM,WAS EXHUMED YESTERDAY BY THE POLICE IN IMO STATE.

                              Yesterday Boxing day,the Nigerian Police in Imo state exhumed the remains of a 63 year old kidnap victim ''Madam Ogo Omereji,who was kidnapped,murdered and buried in a shallow grave by her abductors that were incidentally her nephews.The family of the victim,who was abducted in her farm on September 26 by a three man kidnap gang,was said to have paid N500,000 to the kidnappers who eventually killed the victim who may have recognised them.Addressing newsmen shortly after the decomposed body was exhumed from the grave in the thick forest,the State Police Public Relations Officer,Andrew Enwerem,said that following the report of the kidnap,operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Police Command arrested the three suspects,who confessed to have abducted the woman who they subsequently murdered and buried in the forest at Awara in Ohaji/Egbema Council Area of the state.The names of the suspects were 26 year old Gift Emeka,28 year old Sunday Uc
