       In response to a presidential directive, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has mobilised resources to assist the victims of Minna fire disaster which occurred on 4th January, 2019. Following the brief he received earlier on the incident, the President called on NEMA to provide urgent assistance to the victims, whose economic life was disrupted by the fire disaster. President Buhari attaches great importance to offering immediate succour to victims of devastating disasters as soon as possible as he believes that the essence of government is to help the people overcome difficulties within the limits of available resources. NEMA, according to the report presented, had visited the scene of the fire disaster for preliminary damage assessment and thereafter deployed relief items such as building materials and other related items to the affected victims.       JUST IN: Troops Detonate Boko Haram Terrorists IED. At about 1 p.m today 13 January 2019, Gallant Troops of 222 Battalion Konduga, on clearance patrol with the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Scanning Team, operating along Konduga-Aulari Road,recovered Improvised Explosive Devices planted by BHTs along Kawuri-Aulari Road.       The attention of the authorities of Lagos State Police Command has been drawn to the news making the rounds on the social media and published by some sections of the print media to the effect that one Yinka Badmus, a photojournalist, has been arrested and remanded in Ikoyi prison, for allegedly sporting a hairstyle, which some policemen felt made him look like a cultist. Ordinarily, the Command would not have responded to the news but because of numerous phone calls and enquiries from well meaning Nigerians, it decided to put the issue in proper perspective. To start with, it is ridiculous to say that the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Lagos State Police Command charged a suspect to court because of his hairstyle.        The Presidency calls on Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State to desist from basing his campaign for re-election on falsehoods concerning President Muhammadu Buhari and instead focus on the dire issues confronting the State.
