  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Sources say Atiku’s decision to dump Obi was because he allegedly made little financial contributions to the 2019 campaign purse as well as inability to win his state Anambra and the South East for the party in the presidential election. “Prior to the 2019 election, Governor Peter Obi didn’t have a strong political structure outside the South East. Anambra state disability community has bemoaned the murder of the Coordinator of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, JONAPWD, Aguata branch, Mr. Mmaduabuchi Nnofu. Mmaduabuchi, a blind man and the first male child of his family was allegedly murdered and burnt beyond recognition by his younger brother, Mr. Onyedika Nnofu who is the last male child of four boys in the family. The incident happened on Sunday, January 30th, 2022, at Eziagulu village, Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area. When ABS arrived the scene of the incident, the place was deserted as doors and windows were under lock and key. According to a source who spoke to ABS under anonymity, the prime suspect of the murder, Onyedika whom he described as someone who never heeds to advice, has been in conflict for long with Mmaduabuchi his brother, over a piece of land, and has on several occasions, threatened to kill the victim if he does not steer clear. Three teenage boys have been caught burning the head of a girl, said to be in a relationship with one of them, for money ritual in Oke Aregba area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. Men of the Ogun State Police Command arrested the three teenagers in the early hours of Saturday following the tip-off by one Segun Adewusi, who is the community security guard. Adewusi was reported to have observed that four boys were burning something suspected to be human head in a local pot. The security guard immediately alerted the police at Adatan station, who went to the scene and arrested the three boys while the fourth one had escaped before the police arrived. A source, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent said the slain girl, identified as Rofiat, was a resident of Idi-Ape; and was a girlfriend to one Soliu, who is now in police net. Soliu was said to have lured the girl to his room, where he held her down and asked one of his friends to slaughter her with a knife. The source said,

The winner of the Miss USA pageant in 2019, Cheslie Kryst has died after jumping from a Manhattan apartment building. Cheslie, 30, was a lawyer and also a correspondent for the entertainment news program "Extra." According to NPR, Cheslie was pronounced dead at the scene of the jump on Sunday.  Her family confirmed her death in a statement. "In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. "Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on," her family said.

WOMAN DELIVERED A BABY BOY ON BOARD A PLANE FROM GHABA TO US.(PHOTOS).#CONGRATULATIONS.

A pregnant woman has been safely delivered of a baby boy during a United Airlines flight (UA 977) from Ghana to the US on Sunday. Ghanaian broadcaster, Nancy Adobea Anane, who was on board shared the good news on her Instagram page. She said that a Ghanaian doctor, Dr Ansah-Addo helped to deliver the baby. She said, “The baby who was due late February decided to arrive 34,000 ft above sea level. "Dr. Ansah-Addo a Ghanaian practicing in the USA made himself available when the pilot called for assistance of medical personnel on board. With assistance from the whole United crew, a bouncy baby boy was delivered 2 hours to landing. "The flight was met on arrival by paramedics upon landing at the Washington Dulles international airport. The baby and his mother GG are currently under medical care." More photos below.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Enugu Zonal Command on Friday, January 28, 2022, returned eleven houses recovered in different parts of Enugu to Chief Arthur Eze. The properties were recovered by the EFCC from the duo of Olisaebuka Okechukwu Eze and Onyeka Nnadozie Eze, administration and finance manager respectively in Arthur Eze’s firm, accused of criminal breach of trust and diversion of funds belonging to the business mogul. Investigation established that the duo who are also nephew of Chief Eze, used proceeds of their alleged criminal activities to acquire choice properties in Enugu and other parts of South Eastern Nigeria. The Commission in the course of the investigation initiated a forfeiture proceedings against the two company officials before Justice I.M Buba of the Federal High Court, Enugu, which granted an interim Order of forfeiture of the said properties, directing the defendants to show cause why the properties should not be finally forfeited.  In th

Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel of the Federal High Court sitting in Oshogbo, Osun State, on Monday,  January 31, 2021, convicted and sentenced one Olasupo Temitayo Ayomide to four months imprisonment for fraudulent impersonation. The 21-year-old defendant, who claims to be an undergraduate studying accounting was arraigned on one count charge by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the EFCC. The defendant had sometime in October 2021 impersonated the identity of Clifford Smith with the intent to defraud one Greshen in contravention of Section 22(2)(b)(i) and (ii) of the Cybercrimes ( Prohibition, Prevention, Etc) Act 2015 and punishable under same Act.

Court Sends Phone Repairer to 12months In Prison for Cybercrime in Ilorin The Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC, on Monday, January 31, 2022 secured the conviction of a 25-year-old phone repairer, Abdulkazeem Ridwan, for offences bordering on cybercrime and possession of fraudulent funds. Ridwan, who hails from Surulere Local Government Area, Ogbomoso, Oyo State was prosecuted on a two-count charge before Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin.
