 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites. COURT STRIKES OUT OBANIKORO'S N100M SUIT AGAINST EFCC TODAY.{PHOTO}

                                                             Justice Abdulaziz Anka of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi,Lagos on Monday,April 24,2017,struck out out a N100m fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by a former Minister of State for Defence,Musiliu Obanikoro,against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on the grounds of incompetence.The former minister; his wives,Fati and Moroophat,and sons,Gbolahan and Babajide,had through their counsel,Lawal Pedro,SAN,in the suit,sued the Commission for ''unlawful invasion of their houses and seizure of some of their properties''.They had urged the court to declare the seizure of items from their houses on June 14,2016 by the Commission as null and void.However,in his ruling today,Justice Anka upheld the preliminary objection by E.E Iheanacho,counsel to the EFCC,who said: ''Since the main claim of the applicants was founded on tort,their principal reliefs are not maintainable under the Funda

                     Garba Shehu,the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity,stated this in Abuja yesterday sunday night,in reaction to social media reports on the purported resignation of Kyari and Daura.Shehu,who frowned at the report,said the Chief of Staff left Abuja on saturday for China on a presidential assignment and would be back by the middle of the week.He said ''The report is pure mischief.What I can tell you is that the President sent the Chief of Staff Malam Abba Kyari to China on an assignment.He left on Saturday and we are expecting him by the middle of the week.The DG DSS,who spoke with me a few hours ago,is busy on his job.Nothing to indicate resignation.I think these are mere distraction''.
