 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

NDLEA intercepts 1.5million Tramadol tablets going to Kebbi, Kano; other drugs at Lagos airport, seaport . Seizes cash, arms, ammunition, 137.754kg narcotics across 7 states About one million, five hundred thousand tablets and capsules of pharmaceutical opioids such as Tramadol, Exol-5 and Diazepam loaded in Onitsha, Anambra state and heading to Yauri, Kebbi state have been intercepted in Edo state by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Friday 14th January, same day 425,000 Diazepam tablets were recovered at Segemu, Kano. The attack by Bandits on Nakuna and Wurukuchi communities in Shiroro Local Government Area on Tuesday has left many families devastated as they lost both relatives and homes. Minister of Power enrols 16 orphans in private boarding school after graduation from his orphanage January 15, 2022   An orphanage in Yobe State, the Ya Zarah Orphan Care Foundation, has graduated 16 orphans who lost their parents in the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East. The orphans have been admitted into a private boarding school, El-Kanemi College of Islamic Theology Maiduguri, where they will continue their basic and secondary education with their school and feeding fees fully paid. Meanwhile, the second batch of 25 orphans have been admitted into the orphanage, comprising 15 boys and 10 girls, between the ages of 6–7. The orphanage, based in Potiskum, Yobe State, was established by a former deputy governor of Yobe state and now Nigeria’s minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu.

Troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force(JTF)  North East(NE) Operation HADIN KAI(OPHK) have dealt decisively with Boko Haram(BH) and Islamic State West Africa Province(ISWAP) terrorists, who made frantic attempt to infiltrate the ancient town of Biu, Borno State.   The criminal elements met their Waterloo, when the gallant troops of 231 Battalion and 331 Artillery Regiment  swiftly routed them in a failed incursion at Maina Hari village in Biu on Saturday15 January 2022. In the intense battle, troops unleashed superior fire power on the terrorists, neutralizing five BH/ISWAP terrorists, compelling others to withdraw in disarray..  The gallant troops also captured  from the terrorists, one gun truck, one Deshka M  Anti Aircraft Gun, one HK 21 Machine Gun, one Rocket Propelled Grenade Bomb, 137 rounds of 12.7mm Anti-Aircraft Rounds amongst others.
