 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC yesterday February 4,2017,executed the interin order granted by Honourable Justice J.T TSHOHO of Federal High Court Abuja Division in respect of the forfeiture of the property of Malam Isa Yuguda,former Governor of Bauchi State.The property is located on plot 184 Attahiru Bafarawa close,beside Faraih Suits,GRA,Bauchi.The order of the court is pending the final determination of investigation and prosecution of the former Governor on abuse of office,money laundering and diversion of public funds.More photos below.

              In a video posted on his Instagram yesterday saturday night,Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia Popularly known as Tuface did not chicken out of the protest but he said in the video that the protest which is scheduled to hold tomorrow monday at the nation stadium is under threat of being hijacked by other interests not aligned with the ideas behind the organisation of the march.He said in the video ''Dear Nigerians,after due consultations,it has become clear that the one voice protest scheduled to hold in Lagos and Abuja on monday,February 6 is under serious threat of hijack by interests not aligned with our ideals.The point I am intent on making is not worth the life of any Nigerian.It is motivated by the need to negotiate a better deal for the ordinary Nigerian.I therefore announce the cancellation of the planned protest.We would share further information in due course we appreciate the massive support.I am convinced our voices have been heard.May God bless you al

OGUN STATE TO HOST YOUTH CONVENTION THIS WEEK.{READ].

            The Ogun State Government has concluded plans to host a Youth Convention between 7th and 8th February,2017.The Convention,scheduled to hold at the June 12 Cultural Centre,Kuto,Abeokuta is being organized by the State Government in collaboration with the organized private sector,civil society and international agencies. With the theme, ''Ogun Youths:Exploring New Frontiers'',the Convention is a direct response of the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration to the challenge of youth unemployment and under-employment. The 2016 National Youth Survey Report released by the National Bureau of Statistics {NBS} indicates that approximately 56 percent of youths,defined as between the ages 15 and 34 are unemployed.The implication of this statistics is that 70million out of Nigeria's population of 165 million are either unemployed or under-employed.
