The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. I Will Soon Start Earning Revenue That Is Higher Than Ghana’s GDP From All My Companies — Dangote Aliko Dangote the Chairman of Dangote Group has said that his plans is to shore up his total revenue above the size of Ghana’s GDP by the time his factories begin to work in full capacity. Dangote made the disclosure while narrating the difficulties he has faced in the last four years when he was building his 360,0000 barrels per day refinery in Lagos. Dangote is launching the refinery which is the largest single train refinery on May 22 this year which Nigeria relies on to curb billions of dollars spent on the importation and swap of petroleum products. We’ll Discharge Our Duty Without Fear, Favour – Election Tribunal Chairman Chairman of the Election Petition Tribunal in Calabar, Justice Olukayode Adeniyi has given assurance that the tribunal will discharge its duties without any fear of favour. Adeniyi stated this on Wednesday during the inaugural sitting of the tribunal in Calabar. He said the tribunal would ensure that judgement was delivered in favour of the real winners of the just concluded National and State House of Assembly elections in the state. The Chairman flanked by other two members of the panel, Justice Eva Okoronkwo and Justice Z. U. Modibbo, called for the cooperation of all parties involved in the hearing of the tribunal. “We shall discharge our duties to the best of our abilities and always remain mindful of the oath we took. “We assure all litigants of a fair trial and we will not entertain any form of interference from any quarter,” he said.

Nnamdi Kanu To Remain In Detention Till September  The Supreme Court on Thursday, postponed the hearing of the lawsuit filed by Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), till September 14. Kanu had petitioned the court to overturn the appeals court’s decision to prevent his release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS). During Thursday’s hearings, the Supreme Court granted the plea of Abubakar Malami, the federation’s attorney-general, to file more processes in response to Kanu’s petition on Tuesday. The Supreme Court stated that even if the appeal is heard, there is no time in its calendar to draft and deliver the judgement within the 90-day limit.
