 Chess master, Tunde Onakoya’s parents get house gift By Jide Ajia Chessmaster, Tunde Onakoya,  finds himself engulfed in emotions as an unnamed good Samaritan graciously gifted a house to his parents. The development is coming on the heels of Tunde’s breaking of the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon in New York. While the official verdict on Tunde’s record-breaking endeavoir remains pending, the spirit he exhibited throughout the marathon has already won him admiration and acclaim from far and wide. Overwhelmed by the gesture towards his parents, Onakoya took to his X handle to pour out his heartfelt gratitude on Friday. Despite his father’s initial skepticism towards his passion for chess, Onakoya acknowledged his unwavering support in myriad other ways. He wrote, “Today, an angel blessed my parents with a new home. PRESS RELEASE POLICE ACADEMY COMMENCES APPLICATION INTO 9TH REGULAR COURSE CADET DEGREE PROGRAMME • Interested and Qualified Candidates to Register on www.polac.edu.ng, as IGP Warns Impostors, Fraudsters The Nigeria Police Force wishes to invite interested and qualified candidates of Nigerian extract to register online for admission into the 9th Regular Course Cadet Degree Programme. The online registration process will run for a period of six (6) weeks (*from August 1st to September 12, 2022*) availing both male and female Nigerians of good character the opportunity of serving the fatherland.   The requirements for admission into the Academy include that the applicants must: i. be Nigerian citizen by birth and possess National Identity Number (NIN), score not less than 180 marks in the 2022 JAMB, and must have selected the Nigeria Police Academy as institution of *first choice*. ii. possess a minimum of 6 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO with credit pass in Mathematics

CALL LAGOS STATE APC TO ORDER, LABOUR PARTY CHARGES BUHARI. The Chairman of Lagos State Labour Party (LP), Comrade Kayode Ezekiel Salako has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Inspector General of Police and other relevant security agencies to call Lagos State APC to order over incessant harassment of Labour Party in the state. Salako made this call on Tuesday at a press conference to unveil the 24-man Executive Committee of Labour Party in Lagos State. According to him, APC doesn’t have monopoly of political operations in the state and this is to appeal to them to allow us free playing ground to run our campaigns and affairs under the dictates of the law in the state.  “We have been receiving treats and warning messages that we will not be allowed to operate in the state, and that Lagos State is an APC state, so no other political party would be allowed to run campaigns in the state. I hereby appeal to the President to intervene to allow us access to unhindered operations in L
