 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. Bandits Raping Wives Of My Subjects, Monarch Raises Alarm Pioneer ruler of Dnata chiefdom located in Tafa Town along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, Chief Bitrus James, has lamented that bandits have sacked territorial communities under his rulership. James disclosed this during an interview with Daily Trust as he cried out that the activities of bandits have restrained his subjects from farming. The monarch’s community was carved out of Kagarko by the immediate past Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, in 2022. He mentioned six communities – Gadunda, Kwakulu, Jida, Isa, Kuyeri and Mpape that are currently sacked by bandits. Uproar as CBN announces Abuja office decongestion affecting 1,533 staff There is a growing concern among workers as the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, commenced the decongestion of its head office in Abuja, affecting 1,533 staff. A circular dated January 12, 2024, signed by the Director of the Human Resources Department of CBN to all staff, said the move was necessitated by safety concerns and the need to boost efficiency. According to the apex bank, the action plan focuses on optimizing the utilization of other banks’ premises. It added that the headquarters occupancy level of 4,233 significantly exceeds the optimal capacity of 2,700 for the head office building. Consequently, 1,533 staff will be transferred from its head office to other CBN facilities within Abuja and Lagos and understaffed branches. A 72-YEAR-OLD MAN MAULED BY DOGS TRYING TO SAVE HIS OWN DOGS THEY HAD ATTACKED.(PHOTO).

 A 72-year-old man mauled by dogs trying to save his own dogs they had attacked! Jerry Schlich was walking his dogs near his Belleville, Illinois home when a big white and tan dog (an Akita mix possibly) came out of nowhere and began attacking his dogs.  Jerry said his dog, Hank, was literally screaming out in pain and fear. Jerry did what any loving dog owner would do, he jumped in the fray kicking and punching in an attempt to save his dogs. This is when the aggressive dog and his dog cohort turned on Jerry. They were able to pin Jerry to the ground and deliver multiple bites. Jerry suffered serious tears and puncture wounds in the attack. Doctors contend that a child would not have survived. Now St. Clair County Animal Control officers are looking for the dogs and owner. Jerry and others in the neighborhood say that both dogs had collars with tags on them.
