 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

JOINT TRANS- BORDER OPERATION: TROOPS NEUTRALISE 5 BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade deployed in Operation LAFIYA DOLE, in a joint trans-border operation with troops of the Cameroonian Defence Forces, neutralised five (5) Boko Haram Terrorists in the border villages of Yabiri Kote and Bula Dadobe of Bama Local Government Area Borno State. 2. The joint operations, nicknamed: "Operation RAINBOW 15" which was conducted from Saturday 15 - Sunday 16 September 2018, came on the heels of the discovery of makeshift bases, established by the terrorists in Yabiri Kote and Bula Dadode from where they launched attacks on villages in Cameroon and Nigeria. 3. SAFETY: ERRING PETROLEUM MARKETERS TO FACE SANCTIONS-LASG.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Hakeem Dickson, has read the riot act to petroleum marketers who flout safety regulations, noting that the Lagos State Government has consistently carried out safety sensitisation and advocacy in a bid to ensure the requisite awareness about safety in the downstream sector. Dickson, who stated this today during a two-day maiden edition of Lagos State Petroleum  Marketers Safety Conference 2018 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Balmoral Hall, warned that sanctions will be meted out to erring drivers and operators. While decrying the recklessness of Petrol Tanker Drivers who flout safety regulations, thus endangering the lives of the people, Dickson explained that the Conference will be beneficial to stakeholders in the sector, especially the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN and urged them to further train their drivers about safety because of the sensitivity of the substance they transport.

PRESIDENT BUHARI DIRECTS NEMA TO DECLARE “NATIONAL DISASTER’’ ON FLOODING.#STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE.

       President Muhammadu Buhari has delegated authority to the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mustapha Maihaja, to declare a “national disaster’’ in the event that anticipated flooding turns a reality in parts of the country. The President’s directive follows a warning by the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency that Rivers Benue and Niger had almost reached levels that resulted in flooding in 2012, which led to lost of lives and destruction of property. 'Together: Our Community Cookbook' showcases over 50 recipes from women whose community was affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. Last summer, a group of women gathered in a communal kitchen at the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in West London, where they could prepare fresh food for their families, friends and neighbours. As they cooked together and shared recipes, as a community they began to connect, heal and look forward. Word spread and more women joined in – this was the start of the Hubb Community Kitchen.        My thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Saifura Hussaini Ahmed Khorsa — the young 25-year old female international aid worker who was abducted and killed by Boko Haram. Such horrific actions have no place in Nigeria. I join all Nigerians and the international community in condemning this killing in the strongest possible terms. The killing of aid workers, who choose to go into troubled spots, both in Nigeria and around the world, represents a new low by  the insurgents, as humanitarian workers are some of the most courageous and selfless people on the planet. Additionally, the continued abduction of the late Saifura’s ICRC colleagues, Hauwa and Alice, by the militants, alongside the captivity of the young Dapchi schoolgirl, Leah Sharibu, must end.       The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will carry out aerial display as part of activities to mark Nigeria's 58th Anniversary Celebration. Consequently, there will be movement of NAF aircraft within the Federal Capital Territory from now till 2 October 2018 as NAF pilots commence rehearsals for the occasion.        Rev.Fr.Charles Chukwukelue Ebele, the Parish Priest of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, Inoma in Anambra West local government area of Anambra state, is reported to have lost his life on Saturday  in a boat accident. It was gathered that the boat the priest was travelling in - capsized in River Niger. According to a report by Azubike Okwuoto Imoka, an eyewitness revealed that the Rev.Father's friend was in the same boat with him when the incident happened and because he gave his life jacket to his friend, he was helpless when the boat capsized. The Anambra State Emergency Agency (SEMA), has been notified about the mishap as the officials have said that they are doing everything possible to recover the corpse.May his soul rest in peace,Amen.

     Yesterday monday I watched the 2018 Emmy Awards red carpet live on E! it was morning in the United States,but Nigeria time  it started around 11pm.The 70th Emmy awards took place at the Microsoft Theatre Los Angeles.Tifanny Haddish who was wearing a multicoloured dress was really looking like a carnival or parachute and I love the dress so much,am sure parachute inspired the designer .Then Tracee Elis Ross wore a pink ballonlike dress from Valentino 2018 collection .More beautiful photos below.
