  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. PRESIDENT BUHARI TO COMMISSION THE OWERRI / ORLU AND OWERRI / OKIGWE ROADS UPON COMPLETION  His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) has graciously approved to commission the ongoing construction of Owerri-Orlu and Owerri-Okigwe roads upon completion next month. This was disclosed by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma after a courtesy visit to Mr President at the Villa for a progress report on the ongoing road constructions and projects in the State.  It is therefore worthy of note that the roads which are Federal roads are currently being reconstructed by Imo State Government with dual carriage for the Owerri-Orlu road and expanded width for the Owerri-Okigwe road, as approved by Mr President. NIGERIAN AIR FORCE TRAINING AIRCRAFT CRASHES IN KADUNA,OFFICERS FEARED KILLED. (PHOTO).

A training aircraft of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has crashed in Kaduna State. Several officers are feared to have been killed in the plane crash which occurred on Tuesday. While the details of the incident remain sketchy, two pilots were on board, Cable reports. The incident comes barely a year after General Ibrahim Attahiru, the former Chief of Army Staff, died in a plane crash in the same state. Attahiru and other military officers were killed when their plane crashed as it was about to land at the Kaduna International Airport on Friday, May 21, 2021.   The armed forces had said in a statement that the crash “claimed the lives of 10 other officers including the crew”.

Abride, Tina Moses, has been kidnapped in Kaduna State, only 24 hours to her wedding. Tina and her fiance, Elisha Koje, were set to wed on Saturday, April 16 in the Sanga Local Government Area of the state. According to Esther Attah Asheri, her sister-in-law in a Facebook post, the woman was kidnapped on Friday, April 15, on her way to the salon to make her hair in Kaduna town. “My sister in-law has been kidnapped in Kaduna town today was supposed to be our happy day as she would be walking down the aisle today but some people has choose to make it a sad day for us all. Please join us pray for her safe return,” she said. Esther further revealed that the kidnappers have contacted the family but are yet to demand ransom. In recent months, Kaduna has witnessed a spate of violent attacks which has led to killings and abduction of residents. SALES OF HAZARDOUS CONTAMINATED MILK: LASCOPA ORDERS CLOSURE OF WAREHOUSE As a follow up to its investigations on the sale and distribution of contaminated milk by a middle-aged man in Ojuelegba, the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, LASCOPA, has ordered the arrest of the Activation Sales Representative of the suspected organisation, as well as the closure of a distribution warehouse located at Wilmer Street, Isheri-Ojodu area. Narrating the incident, the General Manager of LASCOPA, Afolabi Solebo (Esq.), who led an enforcement team to the distribution warehouse, recalled that the video of a middle-aged man caught selling hazardous and contaminated milk to unsuspecting members of the public at Ibidun Street, Ojuelegba, surfaced online on Good Friday. According to Solebo, the man disclosed during an earlier interrogation by men of the Nigeria Police Force, Area C Police Station, Surulere, that the products were collected from the warehouse at Wilmer Street in Isheri, Berger.

Philanthropist and actress, Tonto Dikeh, has shared her two cents on the alleged rape saga involving students of Chrisland Schools. The actress took to her Instagram page to narrate her observations. She said: “Ok, I just watched the Chrisland video and all I can say is that is not rape, that 10 years old girl knows sex. "In my own opinion, it is not her first nor her fifth time. She has a much older groomer somewhere. "The family needs to ask the right question and protect the girl more." The Minister for Transportation and Presidential Aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, on Monday, declared himself the most qualified person to rule Nigeria. He made this declaration while he was on a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniyan Ogunwusi Ojaja II on his aspiration to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
