EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

        Given the nature of contemporary warfare and the changing roles of militaries across the world, the Armed Forces of Nigeria must evolve with speed and urgency in dealing with emerging threats and challenges of nation-building especially asymmetric warfare, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. LNSC,ARRESTED SOME SECONDARY STUDENTS FOR CULTISM ON FRIDAY.

      The police and some members of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) have arrested 16 secondary school students suspected to be cultists terrorising members of the public with dangerous weapons in the state. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Olosan Police Station, CSP Adekunle Omisankin, who confirmed the arrest on Sunday, said all the suspects belonged to the ”Gang Star’’ cult. Omisankin said the suspects claimed to have been in existence since 2013 operating as students, stressing that they were between 17 years and 18 years old. “One student-suspect was brought to our station by LNSC on Friday. Our investigation led to the arrest of 10 other students, including a female student,” Omisankin said. The spokesman for the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps, Mr Adewale Afolabi, said that they had also arrested a JSS3 student, who was allegedly terrorising members of the public with dangerous weapons such as knives and machetes. They burnt down one Police vehicle and two exhibit vehicles parked at the Division and attacked Police Officers at the Division with dangerous weapons. In the process, some of the Police personnel were seriously injured. One of them, an ASP, who was among those seriously injured, was rushed to the Living Word Hospital where he was admitted. The Doctors battled in vain to save his life. He has died as a result of the injuries sustained.        The Lagos State Government has completed the construction of the first ever high-powered DNA Forensic Laboratory in Nigeria, the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem has disclosed. The State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode had last year approved the construction of the DNA forensic lab as part of the criminal justice sector reforms designed to solve crime through technology and fulfil an unmet need for DNA profiling which is a unique forensic technique that is now being used all over the world. Speaking at a press briefing held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, Ikeja to announce activities lined up by the State Government to commemorate the 2017 United Nations International Day of Peace, Kazeem said skeletal work had already commenced in the lab known as the Lagos State DNA Forensics Centre (LSDFC), and that it would be formerly commissioned in coming weeks. EFCC RETURNS N36 MILLION TO SCHOOLS DUPED BY 3 SUSPECTED FRAUDSTERS YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

     The EFCC has returned the sum of N36, 186,12.00 (Thirty Six Million, One Hundred and Eighty-Six Thousand, Twelve Naira) to Mrs Ifeoma Chukwuogo, Proprietress of Jephtah International School, East-West Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The money was recovered by the EFCC from three suspected fraudsters who allegedly diverted the school's money for their private uses.   The suspects: Cyril Ameh Idakwoji, a sta ff of Access Bank plc who was the Account Officer of the school, Boma Obama Chisom, who posed as the Customer Relations Officer of the bank and Aderemi Adebayo Moses another accomplice who prints fake documents, allegedly diverted a sum of over N37,000,000( Thirty-seven Million Naira only) belonging to the school and thereby threw it into financial difficulties.More photos below.
