 OPERATION PEACE SHIELD: 6 BRIGADE TROOPS RESCUE KIDNAPPED VICTIM DURING ONGOING OPERATIONS Troops of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have successfully rescued a kidnapped victim following sustained, robust, and aggressive search and rescue operations within the Brigade Area of Responsibility. On 27 January 2026, troops deployed at Dogon Gawa, Taraba State, while conducting ongoing search and rescue operations, sighted and rescued a man who had been abandoned in the bush by his captors. The victim was later identified as Mr Ghali. Further investigations revealed that Mr Ghali and another victim, Mr Simon Oluchukwu, were abducted on 11 January 2026 at Gbise Village, Mbayonga of Benue State. During the abduction, their driver was sadly killed by the kidnappers.                             Two Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC,attached to Oredo and Orhiomwon Local Government Areas of Edo state  over their alleged involvement in the disappearance of result sheets provided for elections in those areas on the 28 of March Presidential and National Assembly elections.The state Resident Electoral Commissioner {REC} Barrister Mike Igini,who announced this during a meeting with the leaders of All Progressive Congress {APC} and the People Democratic Party {PDP} in the state.He also disclosed  that other officers of the Commission were being interrogated over alleged malpractices in the last elections,adding that those involved may face prosecution.According to him,areas where elections are rescheduled to hold includes the entire Orhiomwon Local Government Areas,six wards in Uhumwonde,some wards and units in Ikpoba Okhai,Ovia North East,Ovia South west and Oredo ...

A 50 YEAR OLD BLACKMAN,WAS SHOT 8 TIMES IN THE BACK BY A WHITE POLICEMAN IN SOUTH CAROLINA,USA.

               A white police officer in South Carolina has been charged with the murder of a 50 year old black man,who was shot eight times in the back as he ran away.North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey announced the charges at a hastily called news conference in which he said city Patrolman Michael Thomas Slager made a bad decision.The shooting which began as a traffic stop,occured as Americans grapple with issues of trust between law enforcement and minority communities after a series of deaths of un-named blackmen at the hands of police.They include the deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson,Missouri,and Eric Gamer on Staten Island,New York.Both sparked protests nationwide.In the Charleston case,authorities said the victim,50 year old Walter Lamer Scott,was shot after the officer had already hit him with a stun gun.A video of the shooting released to news media outlets shows the officer firing several times at the man's back while he's running aw...
