Private Jet With VIPs Onboard Crash-Lands In Ibadan A private jet having about 10 persons onboard including Very Important Personalities (VIPs) has crash-landed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. Goldmynetv reports that an impeccable source said the jet crash landed on Friday around 11 am at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport. The jet with registration number, N580KR, missed the runway into the nearby bush. Firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were immediately deployed to the scene. But there was no death or casualty recorded. “It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty,” a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo, told our correspondent over the phone. When contacted, a spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, Tunji Oketunmbi, said he would revert but he was yet to do so as of press time. One more photo below.

He led Zambia and Cote d'Ivoire to win the AFCON in 2012 and 2015. He led Saudi Arabia to their 2-1 win over Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.   Potosi, Missouri case of Donna Eye. Donna was picked up by a Washington County deputy to give her a ride from the hospital that she had gone to via ambulance. Donna was found eight days later deceased in remote woods. She was just 44 years old. Preliminary reports are indicating that Donna might have suffered hypothermia and passed away in the woods after being dropped off. The Washington County Sheriff's Department maintains "they are not a taxi service." They said this before and after Donna's body was found. This leaves many to question why they picked her up to take her somewhere in the first place, if they are not a taxi service. Because that's what taxi services do... The family of Donna Eye would like answers pertaining to why Donna's power of attorney was not notified she was being released from the hospital. Promises to Strengthen Democratic Institutions in the State The Rivers State House of Assembly, on Friday, at its 99th Legislative Sitting, has overridden the assent of the Governor to four Bills which were earlier passed  and sent to Governor Siminialayi Fubara for his assent. An Ikeja court on Friday sentenced founder of iReign Christian Ministry, Feyi Daniels, to life imprisonment for “r@pin.g a church member”. The trial judge, Rahman Oshodi, found the Lagos-based cleric guilty. Delivering judgment in the case today January 26, the presiding judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi, said he believed the testimony of the complainant as well as other witnesses who gave direct evidence which weren’t contradicted at any point during the trial, despite the denials of the defendant. In the words of the judge, the cleric used his dominant character and position to S£xua.l violate two members of his church. “R@p.e carries a mandatory life imprisonment and s£xua.l assaul.t carries a jail term of three years, which can’t alleviate the harm on your victims.

EFCC Arraigns Land Agent for N25.4m Land Fraud  The Port Harcourt’s Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, arraigned a land agent, Godfrey Oscar Opara before Justice P .I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.  French Defence Attaché Commissions French Language Laboratory At NDA The French Government through its embassy in Abuja has commissioned an ultramodern French language laboratory at the Nigerian Defence Academy-NDA. In a statement by Public Relations Officer of the Academy, Major Mohammed Maidawa says the project was commissioned at the Academy's permanent site, Afaka in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, by the Defence Attaché, Colonel Guillaume Dujon. Colonel Guillaume Dujon explained that France places a high premium on enhancing the learning of French language, as well as boosting French language proficiency across the globe. Again, Court Orders Remand of Suspended UNICAL Professor as ICPC Files Substituted Charge   Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja has again ordered that Professor Cyril Ndifon, the suspended Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Calabar (UNICAL), be remanded at the Kuje Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service again pending the conclusion of his bail application.   This is even as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) applied to the Court to substitute the earlier charge. This was granted with the addition of one Barrister Sunny Anyanwu as 2nd Defendant.   Barrister Anyanwu, before now was one of the lawyers representing the first defendant in Court but was later joined in the suit over an allegation that he threatened one of the star witnesses ICPC lined up for the trial.   Professor Ndifon was first ordered to be remanded at Kuje Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service on the 8th of January, 2024 pending the conclusion

Supreme Court Upholds 5-Year Jail Term Of Former Nigerian Lawmaker, Farouk Lawan Over $500,000 Bribe  The Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed the judgement of a lower court that sentenced former House of Representatives member, Farouk Lawan, to five years imprisonment for receiving a bribe of $500,000 from businessman, Femi Otedola. Lawan was tried for receiving $500,000 bribe during a legislative probe into the fuel subsidy regime in 2012.
