The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.       Today The Queen, accompanied by The Prince of Wales, opened The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries at   Westminster Abbey . The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries are set more than 16m above the Abbey's floor in the medieval Triforium and have never been open to the public before. They showcase 300 treasures from Westminster Abbey's collection, which spans its 1000 year history. After a tour of the galleries with The Dean of Westminster, The Queen and HRH met those involved in th e restoration project. Alan Titchmarsh then showed The Queen and The Prince of Wales a fountain in the abbey's cloister garth to commemorate the tercentenary of the 18th century landscape gardener Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, which he helped to design. The Queen then unveiled a plaque and received a posy before departing.More photos below.

EFCC ARRAIGNED A WOMAN TODAY FOR FRAUD AT IBADAN.{PHOTO}

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, Friday June 8, 2018 arraigned one Mrs. Aderonke Abimbola before Hon. Justice A. N. Akintola of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, on a 6-count charge bordering on obtaining under false pretense.   She however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against her. In view of Abimbola’s plea, prosecution counsel Harrison Ibekwute prayed the court for a trial date. Ho wever, defense counsel, Oluwatosin Salawu informed the court that she has an application dated and filed 7th June, 2018 seeking the defendants bail. Justice Akintola however, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N250, 000. 00 (Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) only and one surety in like sum, preferably her husband. The surety who must be resident within jurisdiction shall swear to an affidavit of means. The address of the surety shall also to be verified by the Chief Registrar of the Court. ARMY RAIDS BANDITS CAMPS IN ZAMFARA STATE.#PRESS RELEASE.

Troops of 223 Battalion deployed in operation IDON RAINI on 6 June 18 embarked on a raid operation at Danguru, Babandoka Forest of Dansadau district in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State following a report of bandits activities in the area. 2. Three of the bandits were killed during the encounter and their camps also destroyed. 3. Similarly, troops also embarked on raid operation in Gobirawa and Kwacha villages around Madaka Forest, still in Dansadau district in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. 4. Two of the bandits were neutralized during that encounter while others fled following a superior fire power of the troops. 5. K. O Abiola. In a statement signed on Wednesday night by the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, President Buhari has shown that he is a man th at believes in Justice. 107 MOTORCYCLES DISTRIBUTED TO 23 LG FOR EFFECTIVE SUPERVISION OF SCHOOLS YESTERDAY IN KADUNA.{PHOTOS}.

       Kaduna State Government yesterday, thursday 7th June, distributed 107 brand new motorcycles to the 23 Local Governments Education Authorities in the state. The motorcycles given are meant to facilitate effective monitoring and supervision of teaching and learning in public primary and junior secondary schools across the entire state. The Chairman SUBEB in the state, Nasiru Umar, handed over the motorcycles to the Acting Education Secretaries to further distribute to inspectors in their LGAs. Umar said Kaduna state aims at providing quality education for Kaduna citizens, hence the education reforms being spearheaded by the Government.More photos below.

      Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom has warned two warring communities in Agatu local government area to either toe the path of peace and good neighbourliness or face the consequences of government drastic remedial action. Governor Ortom, who visited Obagaji, Agatu local government area yesterday following bloody clashes between the people of Abogbe and Agbaduma directed the local government council chairman, H on.
