The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Indeed, this is a victory for Constituents of Anambra North who will no longer have to travel long distances to access the kinds of medical opportunities a Federal Medical Center avails. Gunmen behead former Anambra lawmaker, Achukwu, after family paid N15m ransom The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the kiIIing of a former state lawmaker, Hon. Nelson Emeka Achukwu, by unidentified gunmen. Okoye was kidnapped along with his aide at about 10:15Pm in his house on June 9 and his decapitated body found between the boundary of Uke and Ukpor on Tuesday evening, June 22. Family sources say they are beyond shocked as they recently paid the N15million ransom requested by his abductors. The victim who runs a fuel station in Utuh, had earlier been abducted and released a few months ago. Two FBI- Wanted Fraudsters Bag Seven Years in Enugu. Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu has convicted and sentenced two fraudsters on the Watch List of the American Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI,  to seven years imprisonment for internet- related offences.  The convicts:   Uchechukwu Solomon Ezirim and Dike George Chimezie got their jail terms on different dates in the same court.  While Ezirim was jailed on Tuesday, June 21,  2022,  Chimezie was convicted on Friday,  June 10,  2022.   Ezirim's conviction was based on his trial by the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC on two- count charges bordering on forgery, impersonation and obtaining money from unsuspecting foreign nationals under false pretences. LATE MAJOR UJ UDIANDEYE HAD AN UNBLEMISHED CAREER, WAS NEVER COURT MARTIALED BEFORE HIS DEMISE The Nigerian Army (NA) has observed an obnoxious insinuation making the rounds on social media, alleging that late Major Udiandeye Jeremiah Udiadenye, terminated his life through suicide, because he was being interrogated or investigated by a military court martial in 1 Division, Kaduna.  Having lost one of its finest officers, the authorities of the Nigerian Army feel deeply concerned that unscrupulous persons under whatever guise would employ such sad occurrence to malign their own Army. ARMY TROOPS INTERCEPT EXPLOSIVES AMMUNITION IN CROSS RIVER Troops of 13 Brigade operating under command of 82 Division, Nigerian Army on Tuesday 21 June 2022, intercepted a Toyota Camry car with registration number JAL 492 AA, ladened with assorted munition while enroute Utanga village towards Obudu Mountains in Cross River State. Troops deployed at Forward Operating Base Amana attempted to stop the vehicle at their checkpoint but the driver evaded the checking and zoomed off. The drivers recalcitrance compelled the troops to open fire on the tyres of the vehicle, thereby immobilizing it.  A thorough search conducted on the vehicle revealed it was conveying 72 Improvised Explosive Device chargers, 121 Dynamite Liquid, 200 rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO) and 82 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition.
