 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

INEC STAFF WAS SHOT AND INJURED ON HER WAY TO MAKURDI.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Breaking News: INEC Nigeria  can confirm that its Governorship election collation officer for Gboko LGA Benue State, Prof. (Mrs.) C.D TULUEN was shot at and injured on her way to Makurdi with the LGA collated result sheet. She is presently receiving treatment in hospital. While wishing her a speedy recovery,  INEC Nigeria  wishes to point out that all its ad-hoc and permanent staff are insured against such mishaps and the Commission is responsible for all hospital bills and medical expenses of all such injured staff. The incident has been reported to the law enforcement officers and we will closely monitor the investigation.

      1. The attention of Headquarters 4 Brigade Nigerian Army has been drawn to a media publication dated 23 March, 2019. In the said publication, it was alleged that Private Igbavbou Lucky and not Private Opiri Stephen as erroneously published was alleged to have been arrested and paraded by the State Police Command for cultist activities. 2. For emphasis, Nigerian Army (NA) is a professional organization with extant policies that  regulates the conduct of its personnel. The NA does not allow any of its personel to belong to any confraternity such as cult groups and related associations. EFCC DECLARES EX-NIA BOSS,AYODELE OKE'S WIFE 'FOLASADE' WANTED.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has declared a former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ayodele Oke and his wife, Folasade, wanted after they failed to answer for fraud charges filed against them. Justice Chukwujeku Aneke of a Federal High Court Lagos, had on February 7, 2019 issued an arrest warrant on them, consequent upon an oral application by counsel for the EFCC,  Rotimi Oyedepo. Oke and his wife are wanted in connection with the $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 cash recovered by the EFCC from an apartment at Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, in April 2017. They are facing a four-count charge bordering on money laundering offence to the tune of N13 billion. One of the counts reads: "That you, Amb. LAGOS TASK FORCE DENIES INVOLVEMENT IN IKORODU KILLING.#PRESS RELEASE.

        The Lagos State Task Force has denied any involvement in the killing of a young school girl at Akoun Village in Ikorodu, Lagos Speaking on an online media report credited to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi refuted the story, saying the Agency was not involved in any enforcement operations around Ikorodu as reported on Saturday, 23rd of March, 2019. Egbeyemi disclosed further that it became necessary to correct this misrepresentation due to persistent inquiries from members of the public and need to set the records straight. He said it was unfortunate that the inaccurate report has generated negative comments that portrayed the task force team as an irresponsible organisation.       A young man has been spotted in a video beating up his ex-girlfriend in her lecture hall, while also asking for refund of her school fees he paid. According to multiple online reports, the incident happened yesterday, 22nd of March 2019 at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. The story making rounds on social media has it that the lady identified as Jane was publicly beaten up and disgraced by her boyfriend after she allegedly dumped him. The boyfriend is said to have paid for Jane’s School fees, and not long Jane dumped him for another person. This made the unidentified boyfriend furious, and he apparently, went to her class to demand for ‘his money’ angrily.
