 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

NASARAWA GOVERNMENT SUSPENDS DPMS, DFS OF COUNCILS FOR 3 MONTHS.{PHOTOS}.

  State Government has directed the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), to send all the Directors of Personal Management (DPMs) and Directors of Finance and Supplies (DFS) in the 13 local governments and 18 development areas to go on indifinite suspension for three months. The suspension order was issued to the top council officials to enable the state auditor general pay salaries owed local government staffs for three months. Public relations officer in the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta, disclosed the development to our correspondent yesterday in Lafia. Shigarfata, said the council officials were suspended because they refused to work with directive of the a committee set up by government to investigate the discrepancies and high wage bills incured by local governments.   The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, weekend, assured the people of the State that the 14.7km Ijebu Ode-Epe Expressway would be ready for their use by Christmas. Prince Dapo Abiodun, who made this known while on an on-the-spot assessment tour of the road, got assurance from the contractors that about eight to nine kilometres of one lane of the road would be completed in the next ten days. "The entire stretch going all the way from Epe to Ijebu-Ode would be completed by Christmas,” the Governor said. He added that the award of the interchange flyover which would be in form of a loop was awarded so as to ensure that accidents do not occur on the road as has been witnessed at other interchanges or intersections in the past. "The contractors have assured me that they will intensify work on this road.
