The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, transmitted the final list of his cabinet nominees to the State House of Assembly. This is coming four weeks after the Governor sent the first batch of the list to the lawmakers for screening. Thirteen Commissioner- and Special Adviser-designates made the second list, which had already been transmitted to the legislature. A statement by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, said the second list had names of accomplished politicians and technocrats who “understand the current need of Lagos” and the development agenda of the Governor.       The Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) has concluded the palliative road work on Ikorodu Road, Mile 12 inward Ketu ahead of schedule and opened the route for motorists coming from Ikorodu to Ketu and other roads on the axis. Speaking on the repair work, the General Manager LSPWC, Engr. Olufemi Daramola stated that the corporation decided to double the number of required personnel and equipment for the repairs  to ensure early completion of the bad sections of the road earlier scheduled to end by 5.30am on Wednesday 14th August, but was concluded around 12.30pm on Tuesday afternoon. While expressing his appreciation to motorists for their understanding during the rehabilitation, Daramola noted that apart from the repairs on the main carriage way, the service lane from Mile 12 inward Ketu was also graded for smooth vehicular movement; sections of the service lane from Ikosi Junction to Ketu were also repaired and sealed with asphalt.     The job portal promised by the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, will be formally launched on Thursday. The public presentation will take place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta at 12 noon prompt. The portal would register, on a continuous basis, employed and unemployed youths in the State with a view to providing them jobs and training opportunities suitable for their trade and academic qualifications.        A 46-year-old male banker has committed suicide hours after taking to Facebook to share a suicidal note. Ibeakanma Onyechere, a married father-of-one, was found lying lifeless in his room at his home in Victoria Island, Lagos State. The banker, from Umuakam Afugiri in Umuahia north LGA, Abia state, reportedly left his wife a suicide note before he took his life by consuming a harmful substance on Friday, August 9, 2019. His wife, who reportedly went shopping at the time he took his life, found the note when she returned. This is the suicide note he left for his wife.... "The best, that’s what I used to call you.
