  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                    Today tuesday,Supreme Court upheld the election of Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State.The panel of justices led by Tanko Ibrahim affirmed the judgements of the Bayelsa State Election Petitions Tribunal and the appellate court.The All Progressive Congress {APC} candidate in the election,Timipre Sylva,had challenged the victory of Dickson,alleging that the election was marred with irregularities.Sylva asked the tribunal to declare him the duly elected governor.But having lost at the tribunal and appellate court,Sylva headed fir the apex court.

NIGERIAN TROOPS,NEUTRALIZE 13 INSURGENTS IN KANGARWA.{PHOTOS}.

           Troops of 119 Task Force Battalion,8 Division Nigeria Army,deployed at Kangarwa,Kukawa Local Government Area off Northern Borno State,have yesterday neutralized 13 Boko Haram terrorists in a counter attack carried out by the troops.Unfortunately,1 soldier paid the supreme price during the encounter,while 3 soldiers were wounded in action.The offensive which began at about 4:00pm and lasted for roughly four hours,necessitated the troops calling for air support to which the Nigerian Air Force {NAF} promptly responded by dispatching an Intelligence Surveillance and reconnaissance {ISR} aircraft and a Ground Attack Fighter Aircraft insupport of the ground offensive.The fierce counter also saw some insurgents fleeing with gunshots wounds and abandoningg logistic and weapons.The troops also neutralized 2 Hilux vehicles belonging to the insurgents and recovered the following; a Hilux vehicle,1 Browning Machine Gun {BMG},1 Ant Aircraft Gun {AAG},2 General Purpose Machine Guns {GPMG}

EDO F.H.C,SENTENCED A YAHOO-BOY TO 18 MONTHS AFTER HE DEFRAUDED AN AMERICAN LADY.{PHOTO}.

                    A Federal High Court,sitting in Benin-City,Edo State has convicted and sentenced to 18 months imprisonment one Collins Osadolor alias Albert Lin.Osadolor was first arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on 13 November,2015 on a three count charge bordering on possession of fraudulent document containing false pretenses.Specifically,he defrauded an American lady,identified as Karry the sum of $250 {Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars} which he admitted and refunded.Upon his arraignment,the convict pleaded not guilty to the charge,but later changed his plea to ''guilty''.Justice P.I Ajoku consequently convicted Osadolor and sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment without an option of fine.One of the count read: ''Collins Osadolor alias Albert Lin on or about the 27th of August 2015 in Benin City,Edo State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court had in your possession in your email inbox folder a fraudulent document co
