  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. KWARA STATE SET SEPT 11-17TH FOR TEACHERS PROMOTION INTERVIEW.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has announced Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 as the date for the commencement of promotion interview exercise for Teaching and Non-teaching staff under the Commission. The Venue of the Exercise is St. Anthony Secondary School, Offa road, Ilorin. This was made known in a statement released by the Executive chairman of TESCOM, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulrasaq in Ilorin on Friday. He disclosed that the interview exercise is for those on level 8 to 17 who were due for promotion between 2015 and 2017 and sat for the examination on the 26th of May, 2018. Alhaji Abdulrasaq added that prior to the interview exercise, all concerned officers are required to report at the TESCOM headquarters on Monday, 10th, September 2018 by 8:00am to obtain their interview form.       As Operation THUNDER STRIKE 2 entered Day 5 , 7 September 2018, the Air Task Force (ATF) for Operation LAFIYA DOLE recorded another set of successful air interdiction missions against Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) targets at Kollaram on the Lake Chad Green fringes as well as Bula Korege within Sambisa Forest. The attack at Kollaram was conducted following successive days of   Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, coupled with Human Intelligence reports, that led to the identification of a BHT hideout within the settlement. Accordingly, the ATF detailed a fighter aircraft to attack the insurgents’ hideout which was destroyed and several BHTs killed. Further ISR missions had also observed significant BHT presence in the middle of Bula Korege on the fringes of Sambisa Forest, with several buildings identified as locations where some BHT leaders reportedly resided. Felix Tei Sormenah whose wedding was scheduled to hold on October 6 but will no longer hold following the soldier’s sudden death. Mabel revealed that the soldier was killed by a careless driver.       The Lagos State Government has disclosed that 65,818 applications were received for the 2,200 teaching job vacancies offered by State Government after the deadline for the submission of applications ended at midnight on Thursday, September 6, 2018. The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mrs. Adebunmi Adekanye, who disclosed this today after receiving reports on the exercise, said the huge number o f applications was mostly influenced by the prompt payment of salaries and the welfare package of the Lagos State for teachers and other employees of the State. She noted that a breakdown of the applications shows that 44,725 people will compete for the 1,200 jobs in the Public Secondary Schools category while 21,093 applied for the teaching job in the public primary sector. Troops of Sector 3 Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed at Gudumbali, Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday 17 September 2018 foiled an attempted attack by the Boko Haram terrorists on their location. 2.
