 Court adjourns case seeking to sack 27 pro-Wike lawmakers A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has adjourned till June 3, 2024 the hearing for a suit filed by members of the Rivers State Civil Society Organisation seeking to sack 27 lawmakers of the State House of Assembly. When the parties arrived at the Court for hearing on the matter on Friday, the Clerk of the court informed them that the Judge, Justice Stephen Daylop Pam was indisposed and a new date was picked. The CSO’s had approached the court to seek interpretation of Section 109 of the 1999 Constitution and whether the lawmakers, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress still have legal rights to remain as lawmakers of their constituencies. The CSO’s led by the Rivers State Chairman, Enefaa Georgewill also want the court to restrain Governor Siminalayi Fubara from representing the 2024 budget to the lawmakers who defected.  NDLEA arrests notorious drug dealer behind London-bound multiple consignments . Intercepts Cocaine, Meth going to UK; 261kgs illicit substances in Kano, Kogi, Osun A notorious drug dealer, Okoli Collins Ikenna, who is the mastermind of recent multiple attempts to export illicit drugs to London in the United Kingdom through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, and some courier companies in Lagos has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA. Okoli has been on court bail following his arrest in November 2020 and subsequent arraignment before a Lagos Federal High Court for attempting to export 15.700kgs of Methamphetamine to Australia. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced the postponement of the governorship election in Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State, following alleged irregularities discovered in most communities in the council area. The announcement was made during collation on Sunday by the officer in charge, Ahmadu Umar. According to Umar, there were 148,407 registered voters in the LGA, yet there was no election in the council area on Saturday due to the activities of some politicians who tried to rig the election. The exercise has been rescheduled to hold on Saturday, November 13, 2021, as the INEC official warned trouble makers to steer clear of all the venues where the election will hold in the Ihiala Council area. Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C Don Adinuba, had alleged that a politician in the area and his group had tried to rig the election. Members of Shura (Judicial) Council of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists’ groups have appointed Sani Shuwaram, a 45-year-old as a new Leader (Wali) in the Lake Chad. Shuwaram was sworn by an Alkali (Judge) Bukar Arge, in a brief ceremony in KURNAWA,a remote camp in the Lake Chad Basin fringes considered as the de-facto headquarters of ISWAP, in Abadam Local Government Area in Borno state. Shuwaram would be the fifth officially recognised ISWAP figure by ISIS Central, after Mamman Nur, Abu-Mosab Albarnawwy, Abbah-Gana, Abu-Dawud, also known as Abu Hafsat Al-Ansari and Aba-Ibrahim. In preparation for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) third stage Super Eagles World Cup Home Qualifying Match with Cape Verde, the Lagos State Government will divert traffic to and from the Stadium in Surulere on Monday, 15th November, 2021. In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde said that vehicles will be barred from accessing Teslim Balogun Stadium axis from 12:00 noon till 5.00 pm, when the match will commence on Monday, 15th November. The diversion plan, according to him, will have motorists heading towards Costain, Lagos Island from Masha/Kilo and Surulere diverted to Adeniran Ogunsanya or Bode Thomas to link Iponri or Eric Moore to access their destinations. Alternately, he advised motorists to utilise Adelabu to connect Babs Animashaun/Eric Moore axis to link Brewery and access Costain or Eko Bridge.
