 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

  Owing to the renewed vigour and rejigged operational strategies the Federal Road Safety Corps embedded into tactical eradication of road traffic crashes in the country, the Corps Marshal , Dr Boboye Oyeyemi has deployed Safety Engineers to Akungba to ascertain the causes and recommend solutions to incessant trailer crashes that have bedevilled that particular route of the highway. This is in addition to an Ambulance rescue point earlier established close to the notorious spot for prompt rescue operations.   *Recover fiream and ammunition* In continuation with it's efforts to stem the tide of crime and other nefarious activities in the State, police operatives attached to Otoucha Division in conjuction with local community vigilante had on the 22/1/2021 at about 9:10pm arrested two robbery suspects at Umueri as follows, (i).Anthony Okeke 'm' aged 29years and, (ii).Chijioke Eljiaja 'm' aged 23yeats both of Umueri in Anambra East LGA of Anambra State following intelligence report. Suspects are habitual offenders allegedly terrorizing the community shortly after their release from correctional centre two months ago. Exhibit recovered in their possessions includes one locally made revolver pistol and Six cartridges.They will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.   As rehabilitation works at the Ogun State Water Corporation's dam site is in top gear, an appeal has gone to the people of Abeokuta and environs to bear with the state government during the period. Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Water Resources, Engr. Kunle Otun made the appeal while inspecting the level of work completion of sluice gates rehabilitation at Arakanga Water Works, Iberekodo Abeokuta. Engr. Otun said the purpose of the project was to ensure that adequate volumes of raw water is extracted from the source to the treatment plants and distribute massively to the growing demands of communities in Abeokuta noting that the appropriate time to successfully achieve the set plan is during the dry season. On his part, General Manager, Ogun State Water Corporation Engr. Segun Maku assured residents that on completion of the project, every part of the city would enjoy continuous supply of potable water. +2
