 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

THE WOMAN WHO TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE ON THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE TODAY NARRATES HER ORDEALS TO POLICE AFTER HER RESCUE.{PHOTOS}.

                           According to sources today friday the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos Police Command said it rescued a woman pictured above who tried to commit suicide by jumping into the Lagos Lagoon.The lady pictured above was identified as 58 years old Taiwo Momoh,a textile dealer in Lagos.The police detachment said the incident occurred at about 11:25 am in Lagos.The statement from the police to pressmen reads ''Shorthly after the report of Mrs Abigael Ogunyinka who was rescued by fishermen in Lagos Lagoon early Friday morning,another woman was today prevented at about 11:25 am from leaping into the Lagoon by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command.The lady,Taiwo Momoh,58,a textile dealer in Lagos Island,had put off her shoes and was wrapping her dress around her when men of RRS 226 prevented her from jumping.The lady,who llives in Lekki Lagos,disclosed that she was pushed to committing suicide in order to put an an end to h

AMBODE HAS CONCLUDED PLANS TO REVAMP NATIONAL ARTS THEATRE NEXT MONTH IN TIME FOR 2017 ''AMAA'' AWARDS.{PHOTOS}.

                Lagos State Government,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday thursday said his administration has concluded plans to begin a total revamping of the National Arts Theatre in Iganmu,Lagos by next month in time for the 2017 Africa Movies Academic Awards {AMAA} ceremony holding in the State later in the year.Governor Ambode,who spoke when he played host to officials of AMAA led by its President,Mrs Peace Anyiam-Osigwe at the Lagos House,Ikeja,expressed optimism that the plan to upgrade the Theatre to world class standard would serve as a viable venue for the AMAA event when completed.''I want to also say that I am very particular about the venue of the AMAA,so we would use everything possible to make sure that the National Arts Theatre is ready.We are in a process and before the month ends,we should have something to start doing within the first week of April to getting the whole place ready'' he said.Alluding to the fact that Lagos would turn 50 by May 27,the Gover

                 The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita has assured the Federal Civil Servants in the country of Government's commitment to see to the successful and full implementation of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing {FISH} programme.Mrs Oyo-Ita stated this today in her office in Abuja during the commissioning ceremony of the ''FISH Client Centre;;,located at the ground floor of Block E,Federal Secretariat Complex phase 11,Abuja.She said that the Federal Government was determined in not only making FISH programme work,but also putting in place machineries that will sustain it and promised that a comprehensive brochure about the FISH programme will soon be made available free of charge to all applicants to create more awareness on the programme and correct the mis-perceptions of the guidelines and criteria involved before one is eligible too own his own house under the scheme.

                       Though the story came in late but I felt so sad when i was informed that Mike Aktari who was one of the cast members from the reality show ''Jerseylicious'' past away this month,about a week ago at the age of 28,though law enforcement officials reportedly do not suspect foul play but believe the cause of death is ''pending toxicology'' Mike passsed away at the age of 28 in his hometown of Westbury,on Long Island in New York state.He dated another cast member of the reality show Olivia Sharpe and even Tracy fought Olivia over Mike.On Olivia Sharpe social media She captioned the photo above ''My heart has never felt so much pain.I wouldn't trade those three years we spent together for the world.You showed me never ending love and loyalty.You accepted me as my crazy goofy self and loved it.You looked at me the way no one ever has.You had the most wonderful heart.I wish I made more of an attempt to get together to catch up
