 Anambra State Govt. Rescues 13 Children From Traffickers, Arrests Suspects By OCHA Brigade Media  13 children have been rescued from suspected child traffickers in Otolo Nnewi by a joint taskforce of Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade and Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs. The joint taskforce also confiscated fake documents that aided the trafficking.  The children were found malnourished and have been denied education.  Report say that the trafficker adopts and sold children to people from different parts of the country.                            According to sources today friday the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos Police Command said it rescued a woman pictured above who tried to commit suicide by jumping into the Lagos Lagoon.The lady pictured above was identified as 58 years old Taiwo Momoh,a textile dealer in Lagos.The police detachment said the incident occurred at about 11:25 am in Lagos.The statement from the police to pressmen reads ''Shorthly after the report of Mrs Abigael Ogunyinka who was rescued by fishermen in Lagos Lagoon early Friday morning,another woman was today prevented at about 11:25 am from leaping into the Lagoon by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command.The lady,Taiwo Momoh,58,a textile dealer in Lagos Island,had put off her shoes and was wrapping her dress around her when men of RRS 226 prevented her from jumping.The lady,who llives in Lekki Lagos,disclosed that she wa...

AMBODE HAS CONCLUDED PLANS TO REVAMP NATIONAL ARTS THEATRE NEXT MONTH IN TIME FOR 2017 ''AMAA'' AWARDS.{PHOTOS}.

                Lagos State Government,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday thursday said his administration has concluded plans to begin a total revamping of the National Arts Theatre in Iganmu,Lagos by next month in time for the 2017 Africa Movies Academic Awards {AMAA} ceremony holding in the State later in the year.Governor Ambode,who spoke when he played host to officials of AMAA led by its President,Mrs Peace Anyiam-Osigwe at the Lagos House,Ikeja,expressed optimism that the plan to upgrade the Theatre to world class standard would serve as a viable venue for the AMAA event when completed.''I want to also say that I am very particular about the venue of the AMAA,so we would use everything possible to make sure that the National Arts Theatre is ready.We are in a process and before the month ends,we should have something to start doing within the first week of April to getting the whole place ready'' he said.Alluding to the fact that Lagos would turn...

                 The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita has assured the Federal Civil Servants in the country of Government's commitment to see to the successful and full implementation of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing {FISH} programme.Mrs Oyo-Ita stated this today in her office in Abuja during the commissioning ceremony of the ''FISH Client Centre;;,located at the ground floor of Block E,Federal Secretariat Complex phase 11,Abuja.She said that the Federal Government was determined in not only making FISH programme work,but also putting in place machineries that will sustain it and promised that a comprehensive brochure about the FISH programme will soon be made available free of charge to all applicants to create more awareness on the programme and correct the mis-perceptions of the guidelines and criteria involved before one is eligible too own his own house under the scheme.

             Federal Road Safety Commission {FRSC} patrol men rescued 1 male adult from a multiple crash that occurred on 24/3/2017,1239hrs along Oyo-Ogbomoso route at 200m from Akinlalu junction.The victim was taken to the SDA Hospital.Meanwhile in Ife-Ibadan route,FRSC patrol men rescued 2 men and 3 female adults from a multiple car crash that occurred on 24/3/2017,0943hrs along Ife-Ibadan route at 15km from Faith Academy.The victimd were taken to the St Dominic Hospital Ogungbade and ASVON Hospital Gbagi,Ibadan.
