KDSG Security Update: Saturday 4th March 2023.  Troops clear bandit hideout in fierce battle in Chikun LGA, rescue 14 victims.  - One bandit neutralized.  The Troops of Sector Four of Operation Whirl Punch, and Special Forces of the 167 Battalion have cleared a bandit hideout during a fierce encounter in Kaduna State.  The troops who embarked on a long range fighting patrol to Tukurua general area of Chikun LGA, engaged and overpowered the outlaws, neutralizing one, with others fleeing in disarray.  The troops during the operation rescued 14 kidnapped victims, comprising nine men and five women. The victims were moved to a secure location for debriefing and examination before being reunited with their families.  In the course of the battle, the troops destroyed several camps. The President’s prayers and thoughts are with the family of Abacha as they grieve the passing of the young Abdullahi. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly confirmed they have been invited to King Charles’ coronation.  But Prince Harry and Meghan have refused to say whether they plan on attending on May 6. A Sussex spokesperson told The Times: ‘I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation.  ‘An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.’ Buckingham Palace has been contacted for confirmation. Dreaded cultist ‘Cross and Die’ arrested in Rivers Community March 5, 2023 A suspected cultist has been arrested by the Police for terrorising residents in Egbeda Community, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State. Africa Update gathered that the cultist, identified simply as ‘Cross and Die’, was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command following credible intelligence and had been detained at the Egbeda Police Division. Speaking on the incident, the President of Ubimini Youth Council, Ikechukwu Wordu, who confirmed the arrest of the cultist, urged members of the community to remain calm. Criminal Case Against Kannywood Actress Hadiza Gabon Transferred To Upper Sharia Court in Kaduna A Sharia Court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna on Friday transferred a breach of trust and cheating suit filed against a popular Kannywood actress, Hadiza Aliyu-Gabon to an Upper Sharia Court. The judge, Isiyaku Abdulrahman, transferred the case to the upper shari’a court in Tudun Wada, following the complainant’s counsel, Nurudeen Murtala’s prayer. While transferring the case, the judge accused the counsel of wanting to waste the court’s time. ”You have two options. Several persons rendered homeless as rainstorm blows off 105 buildings in Ekiti Several persons have been rendered homeless after a heavy downpour destroyed more than 105 buildings in Oke-Ako, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Friday, March 3. The downpour which started at about 3pm also destroyed some electricity facilities across the town, thereby subjecting the residents to a total blackout. While on a visit to the affected area on Saturday, March 4, the deputy governor of the state, Monisade Afuye, described the incident as highly devastating. A statement by the Special Assistant Media to the Deputy Governor, Victor Ogunje, on Saturday, quoted the Governor as expressing delight that no life was lost during the stormy rainfall. WOMEN AND SOCIAL WELFARE COMMISSIONER VISIT 72 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHOSE GENITAL ORGANS WERE CUT OFF BY DOMESTIC HELP IN ANAMBRA. By Chidinma Ikeanyionwu  A 72 year old woman whose sexual organs were cut off and some harvested by her domestic worker has been rescued.  The survivor hails from Umunze, Orumba North Council Area of the State. The ugly incident was discovered after the survivor raised alarm on Thursday when one of her workers alongside two other men stampeded her in her house and cut off her genital organs including nipple, ear, fingers among others.
