The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Osun -Adebiyi for alleged issuance of dud cheque. The defendant was alleged to have received 400 pieces of iPads from Aweskim Technologies Limited and issued a cheque of N38,000,000:00 (Thirty-Eight Million Naira) only to the supplier as consideration for payment, but the cheque was returned unpaid due to insufficient funds standing to the credit of the drawer.

 “Director” Bags 20year for N10.1m Scam in Sokoto Justice Mohammad Saidu Sifawa of the Sokoto State High Court has convicted and sentenced a fraudster, Bashir Muazu, to 20 years in prison on two separate charges bordering on criminal breach of trust, cheating and obtaining money by false pretence.   In the first charge, Muazu, a 46 year-old indigene of Sokoto State, was alleged to have fraudulently obtained the sum of N5,280,000 (Five Million Two Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira) from one Dr. Aliyu Ladan on the guise of supplying him 600 bags of fertilizer.

Troops conducting Exercise GOLDEN DAWN Sector 3 have thwarted an attempt by members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN) to unleash mayhem on residents of Mgbidi and Awo Mmamma  communities in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo state. The group targeted terrorising the people for lawfully refusing  to observe the illegal sit-at-home order foisted on them on Monday 6 November 2021.   The swift response of troops compelled the attackers, mounted on two Sienna Buses and a Toyota Hilux truck  to abandon their mission and withdrew in disarray. Four students out of the five who allegedly assaulted late Dowen College Student, Sylvester Oromoni have been arrested. Hakeem Odumosu, Lagos state commissioner of police confirmed the arrest on Tuesday. Recall that late Sylvester Oromoni had before his death named five students who beat him up in school. The incident led to the death of the student on November 30, 2021. Odumosu said the students in custody are assisting the police in their investigation.

The Nigerian Army had claimed last week that the insurgents attempted to gain access into the town but met stiff resistance from troops of 27 Task Force Brigade and Special Forces School, supported by the Nigerian Air Force component. However, a military source told SaharaReporters on Tuesday that the terror group stormed the community, took over the police station and barracks newly renovated by the state government for several hours. He said the gunmen came in different groups and could not be counted. The source added that some policemen sustained injuries while others fled into the bush. One more photo below.

Commercial flight operators, Airpeace Airline has carried out the first-ever commercial flight from Lagos and Abuja to the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri since the facility became ready for use two months ago. This is coming days after the Aviation regulator, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority issued authority to the state government for take-off of commercial flight operation at the airport, effective, December, 2nd, 2021. The aircraft, labeled 5N BVD from Lagos airport touched down at exactly 2:30 pm, after flight duration of 40 minutes. Having spent six years in custody, and in consideration of his mental health condition, the Anambra State Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, today, 7th December 2021, granted bail to one Chikwado Ikwueze at the Nigerian Correctional Service, Medium Security Custodial Centre, Nnewi, as he extended his jail delivery exercise to the facility, in exercise of powers vested in him as the Chief Judge of the State. Others include one Okwudili Mbanusi, who appeared in Court last in 2018 over alleged serial burglary, but has not perfected his bail conditions, as well as one Justin John, an armed robbery suspect who hails from Plateau State, and has been in detention for over three years following his inability to establish contact with family or relatives for perfection of his bail conditions. The House of Representatives has ordered the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, to immediately take over the investigation of the circumstances, which led to the death of a student of Dowen College, Lekki, the late Sylvester Oromoni.   He is also to investigate other similar killings and human rights abuses earlier reported in boarding schools across the country and see to the prosecution of the perpetrators. Oromoni's death, the rising cases of abuses and cult-related activities in boarding schools in the country, came up in the House under matters of public importance on Tuesday.   I commiserate deeply with the family of late Sylvester (Jnr) Oromoni, the 12-year old pupil of Dowen College, Lagos. As a parent, I share the grief Sylvester's demise has brought upon his parents and the entire household. The incident is not only sad, but disturbing and heartbreaking. Consequently, I have ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter. But while that is going on, I would like to give Sylvester's parents and entire citizenry of Lagos, the assurance of my full support at this trying time. I share their pains and sense of loss. Indeed, words are inadequate to describe my feelings, but I pray that God Almighty will soothe their pains, and grant Sylvester Jnr eternal rest. Amen.. One more photo below.

  A trailer has reportedly crushed scores of students of Ojodu Berger Grammar School to death at the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos on Tuesday.   The sad incident where at least students numbering about 15 were said to have been crushed to death by the trailer occurred at closing hour . According to another source,it claimed that the truck is being chased by security agents wearing white and black.The security agency will not be mentioned until it is confirmed they were actually chasing the truck. I also heard students of the school became destructive to other cars to carry out their anger. More details later One more photo below.
