  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. A Long Island pediatric nurse practitioner and her employee are accused of making $1.5 million from selling fake COVID-19 vaccine cards, and her NYPD officer husband is reportedly facing an internal probe for his potential involvement. Nurse practitioner Julie DeVuono, 49, who owns Wild Child Pediatrics Healthcare on Long Island, and her employee Marissa Urraro, 44, a practical nurse, are accused of selling fake vaccination cards after undercover detectives obtained one 'on one or more occasions.' DeVuono allegedly charged $220 for adults and $85 for children to enter falsified information to the New York State Immunization Information System - reportedly making $1.5 million in just three months, according to CBS New York. Despite receiving vaccines and syringes being sent to the practice from the government, patients never received a vaccine. A father-of-three from Wales died when he drowned while jet-skiing in Africa, an inquest has heard. Iwan Gwyn, 49, was jet-skiing off on a river near the capital Accra in Ghana on a day off from his work at a construction company when he became 'detached' from the vehicle. He was unable to be recovered. An inquest opening heard his body has now been repatriated to the UK for a coroner to carry out an investigation. Originally from Llanaelhaearn, Gwynedd, Mr Gwyn was a qualified quantity surveyor who worked in London and Dublin before moving to Ghana in 2012. Iwan Gwyn, pictured with his wife Annie, died when he drowned while jet-skiing in Ghana. He became a project director with Italian international construction firm Barbisotti. A 14-year-old girl simply identified as Zainab from Gombe State found some money; both naira and foreign currencies and what she decided to do with the monies melted hearts on social media.  Rather to take the cash, Zainab reportedly took the cash to a radio station and asked that an announcement be made to find right owner.  The monies included N12,000, Japanese Yen and a Dollar bill.

I had a 4:25pm Air Peace flight. I got to the airport by 2pm. At the check-in counter, I was told that my flight had been rescheduled for 8:10pm. I wondered why no message was sent to inform me.  In any event, I had to wait at the lounge for the 8:10pm flight. I had to cancel my meetings with my staff in Lagos. My driver was already at the airport. At 8:10pm, Air Peace did not call for boarding. By 9pm, they announced that my flight had been moved again to 10pm. At this point, I tried to go back to Abuja town, as I felt it would be too late for me to travel from Lagos airport to my home in Ikoyi. CBN REMOVES ATM MAINTENANCE FEE, BANK CHARGES,OTHERS. (PHOTO).

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reviewed charges and rates for banking activities in the country. The apex bank said the guideline applies to charges by Banks Other Financial and Non-Financial under its licence or regulation. The document revealed that the CBN has reduced the charges on some transactions including Standing Order Charge (In-Branch); ATM Maninance Fees; Electronic Fund Transfers and Bulk Payments among others. In the latest guideline, CBN said Standing Order Charge for intra-bank will be free compared to the N300 in the 2017 guideline. For Interbank Transfers, the CBN cut the charges to a maximum of N50 per transaction compared to the N300 held in 2017.

 Actress, Kemi Afolabi has lamented her celibate status after sharing a video on how sexual intercourse helps to reduce the risks of a heart attack. The video said to be based on facts said, "Having sex more than 21 times a month can reduce your risk of a heart attack." In her caption, the actress, who was recently attacked by gunmen along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway said, "Haa, God please save me oh. I have been on a sex break for more than one-year sha. 18-YEAR-OLD LURES HIS GIRLFRIEND TO A BUILDING WHERE HIMSELF AND HIS FRIENDS KILLED AND BEHEADED HER FOR MONEY RITUAL PURPOSE. (PHOTO).

 Four young boys whose ages range between 17and 20 years were in the early hours of Saturday January 29 arrested by men of Ogun state police command for killing and beheading a girlfriend of their friend for money-making ritual.  The suspect, Wariz Oladehinde, 17 years,  Abdul Gafar Lukman 19 years and Mustakeem Balogun 20 years were all arrested following a piece of information received at Adatan divisional headquarters from the head of the community security guard, that the suspects were seen burning something suspected to be human head in a local pot. Upon the information, the DPO Adatan division, SP Abiodun Salau, quickly led his detectives to the scene, where the three suspects were arrested. The boyfriend of the murdered girl, Soliu Majekodumi, 18, pictured below, who took to his heels has been apprehended.
