 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites. THE DEATH TOLL FROM BOKO HARAM ATTACKS IN MAIDUGURI YESTERDAY,IS NOW 37.

                   Boko Haram gunmen killed 37 people in raids on five villages around Maidugury,the capital of Borno state.The Islamist militants,who arrived on motorcycles and in four wheel drive vehicles,fired into houses and shot fleeing locals during wednesday evening and the early hours of yesterday thursday.Malum Idrissa a member of a village defense group known locally as the Civilian Joint Task Force said ''Reports indicated a total of 37 people were killed by the insurgents during separate attacks and the villages attacked were around 90 KM from Maiduguri''.Details of the attack emerged a day after president Muhammadu uhari held a summit with regional counter parts to set up a joint military force to counter Boko Haram.
