     Honourable Adekunle Akinlade, current member of House of Representatives (Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, has been declared as the winner of the governorship direct primaries of Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) held on Tuesday 2nd October 2018. Making the declaration today at the APC State Secretariat in Abeokuta, the Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Derin Adebiyi said Akinlade polled the highest number of valid votes in the primaries. The result of the primaries showed that Akinlade scored 190,987 votes, leaving Jimi Lawal in a distant second position with 5,046 votes. Dapo Abiodun garnered 3,648 votes. He was trailed by Abimbola Ashiru with 898 votes, Adegbenga Kaka with 833 votes and Abayomi with 208 votes. Adebiyi said “in compliance with the constitution of our party and the guidelines released by the National Working Committee (NWC) All Progressives Congress”, the Ogun State chapter had constituted local government and ward election committee

      Governor Samuel Ortom has ordered for the evacuation of the Benue State indigenes studying at the University of Jos, Plateau state due to the ongoing mayhem in the city of Jos. The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof Dennis A. Ityavyar disclosed this today during a chat with newsmen in his office in Makurdi. The Commissioner revealed that the Benue State Government was keenly following development in the city of Jos, and has also contacted the Vice-Chancellor of the School, Prof. Sebastian Seddi Maimako on the security situation in Jos and the readiness of the Benue State Government to evacuate students from Benue State studying in the school.      President Muhammadu Buhari, Wednesday, spoke with Mrs Rebecca Sharibu, mother of the Dapchi Secondary schoolgirl, Leah, who had been kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists, and assured her that his administration will do everything it would take to bring her daughter back home. The President consoled the Sharibu family and assured the parents that the Federal Government would do its utmost for the safety and security of their daughter. “I convey my emotion, the strong commitment of my administration and the solidarity of all Nigerians to you and your family as we will do our best to bring your daughter home in peace and safety,” President Buhari told her.         Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 adjourned till November 16, 2018 for ruling on an application for stay of proceedings filed by a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman, in a N4.9bn fraud case.   Nenadi is standing trial alongside a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and a company, Joint Trust Dimensions Limited, on a 17-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N4.9bn. At the resumed hearing today, October 2, 2018, counsel to the first defendant (Nenadi), Ferdinand Orbih, SAN, told the court that he had a motion dated May 2, 2018 before the court for stay of proceedings.  He further told the court that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, must appear before the court. The Nigerian Army wishes to state that the information is false and hereby dissociates itself from the viral picture.   Meanwhile, the COAS LT Gen TY Buratai has commended the task force that recovered the vehicle of the senior officer from the DU pond.
