 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. ADEKUNLE AKINLADE EMERGES AS OGUN APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE .{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Honourable Adekunle Akinlade, current member of House of Representatives (Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, has been declared as the winner of the governorship direct primaries of Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) held on Tuesday 2nd October 2018. Making the declaration today at the APC State Secretariat in Abeokuta, the Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Derin Adebiyi said Akinlade polled the highest number of valid votes in the primaries. The result of the primaries showed that Akinlade scored 190,987 votes, leaving Jimi Lawal in a distant second position with 5,046 votes. Dapo Abiodun garnered 3,648 votes. He was trailed by Abimbola Ashiru with 898 votes, Adegbenga Kaka with 833 votes and Abayomi with 208 votes. Adebiyi said “in compliance with the constitution of our party and the guidelines released by the National Working Committee (NWC) All Progressives Congress”, the Ogun State chapter had constituted local government and ward election committee

        Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 adjourned till November 16, 2018 for ruling on an application for stay of proceedings filed by a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman, in a N4.9bn fraud case.   Nenadi is standing trial alongside a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and a company, Joint Trust Dimensions Limited, on a 17-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of N4.9bn. At the resumed hearing today, October 2, 2018, counsel to the first defendant (Nenadi), Ferdinand Orbih, SAN, told the court that he had a motion dated May 2, 2018 before the court for stay of proceedings.  He further told the court that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, must appear before the court.       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 arraigned Gbenga Makanjuola, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, before Justice Babs O. Kuewumi sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on an amended 11-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy, accepting cash payment beyond threshold and money laundering to the tune of N3.5billion ((Three Billion, Five Hundred Million Naira). Makanjuola is charged alongside Kolawole Shittu, cashier to the Senate President; Robert Chidozie Mbonu, a former Managing Director, Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria, SGBN (who is at large), Melrose General Services Limited and Obiora Amobi, Operation Manager, Melrose General Services Limited. One of the counts reads: “That you, Gbenga Makanjuola, sometime in December 2016 in Nigeria, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did accept cash payment of the sum of $500, 000. 00 (Five Hundred Thousand Dollars Only) from Kolawole Sh
