 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.  Nigerian Social Media Influencer, Ofoegbu Files Motion To Reverse His Remand In Prison For Accusing Evangelist Ebuka Obi Of Fake Miracles Nigerian social media influencer, Mr. Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu, popularly known as Ijele Speaks II, has filed a motion on notice at the Magistrate court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, asking the court to set aside his remand at the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Keffi, Nasarawa State. Ofoegbu in the motion filed on Monday through his counsel, Marvin Omorogbe, also asked the court to direct his release from the prison or in the alternative, admit him to bail pending the conclusion of investigation by the Respondent (Inspector General of Police). In his viral post, Ofoegbu called the pastor a liar and tagged all his miracles as deceits, urging the police to arrest him for turning his religious institution into a business enterprise. The homes were searched in connection with sex trafficking allegations, law enforcement officials told The Associated Press.  Kaduna Court Jails Three Fraudsters for Currency Racketeering   Justices J. Aikawa and Hawa'u Buhari of the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna, have convicted and sentenced three currency racketeers to different jail terms. The convicts are, Adamu Seidu Abdul, Musa Gideon and Justice Musa.  They were jailed on Tuesday and Wednesday,  March 19 and 20, 2024, after pleading guilty to one-count charge bordering on currency  racketeering, following their arraignment by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The one- count charge against Justice reads: “that you, Justice Musa, sometime in February, 2024 in Kaduna within the Judicial Divison of this Honourable Court,did commit an act to wit: engaged yourself in selling Naira Notes and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 21(4) and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007”.  Police Arraign Ekiti Resident For Allegedly Stealing 'Fufu' With Pot Of Soup, Noodles  A 20-year-old man, identified as Ojo Monday, has been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ekiti State, over an alleged house breaking and stealing. It was learnt that the suspect stole some noodles, maggi seasonings, salt, onions, "fufu" and a pot of soup all valued at N300,000 belonging to the complainant. The incident happened on Thursday March 14 at about 12 noon at Falegan, Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti, according to Daily Trust.  The defendant, however, denied the charges. The police prosecutor, Inspector Moyosola Adesola, noted that the offences contravened Sections 322 and 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.  Texas- A 12-year-old boy and a 7-year-old boy stab their 59-year-old neighbor with cognitive disabilities after a short argument. Harris County Sheriff's Department responded to a home in Houston after the 59-year-old woman's brother went to check on her and noticed she was suffering from several serious wounds to her stomach. When asked about what happened the woman simply said the boys from the neighborhood had poked her in the stomach. As police investigated they uncovered surveillance video that showed the entire ordeal. The woman, who neighbors describe as problematic due to her deteriorating mental state, and the 2 boys are involved in a brief argument as they ride their bikes past her house. Only moments later the 2 boys can be seen returning to the home. Both of the children are wearing gloves and quickly make their way into the garage.  Once inside the two boys allegedly stabbed the woman multiple times in the stomach.
