EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                        The EFCC today tuesday June 28,2016 arraigned Nenadi Ester Usman,a former Minister of Finnance and Director of Finance PDP Presidential Campaign Organization in the last general election;Femi Fani-Kayode also a former Minister and Director /Media/Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization,Danjuma Yusuf and Jointrust Dimentions Nigeria Limited before Justice ,M.S Hassan of the Federal High Court Lagos,on a 17 count charge bordering on conspiracy,stealing and illegally disturbed about N4.9 billion Naira belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria for political and personal uses.The defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against them.The Judge however,ordered that the defendants be remanded in prison custody and adjourned to Friday,July 1,2016 for hearing of bail applications.More photos below.

                       The Lagos State Commissioner of Establishments,Training and Pensions,Dr Akintola Benson has reiterated the Ambode administration's resolve to improve staff performance by engaging the services of 140 qualified training consultants t train its staff and help increase their capability for better service delivery to the people of the state.During a speech delivered during a training session at the Public Service Staff Development Centre,Magodo,Dr Benson said that the State Governor demonstrated his commitment to staff development by substantially increasing the budgetary allocation for training purposes in 2016.He said government had also ensured that it engages competent consultants were selected from 450 applicants.The Commissioner,represented at the event by the Director of Training in the Office of Establishments and Training,Mr Aruna Ayodele,said that the huge resources committed into staff development will equip staff with required competence,skills and at

                 According to sources,the United State swore in Ambassador Step Schwartz to take up office in Somalia after half a century.58 years old Schwartz replaces the last ambassador James Bishop,who vacated the US embassy in Somalia when they came under threat more than two decades ago.Schwartz has served as the deputy chief of mission in Zambia.James K Bishop,he U.S ambassador who fled with the rest of the embassy staff a quarter-century ago said ''It will not be easy,Alshabaab remains a threat,obviously and the economic problem remain to be solved''.US pulled it diplomatic mission in Somalia in 1993 after militia men shot down a US military helicopter that claimed the lives of 18 soldiers.More photos below.                                                                                       

EFCC ARRAIGNS A BUSINESS-WOMAN FOR FRAUD AND ISSUANCE OF DUD CHEQUE,YESTERDAY IN LAGOS.{PHOTOS}.

                                                                         The EFCC,testerday monday June 27,2016 arraigned one Helen Ogunniwa alongside her company,Den-Moyek Nigeria Enterprise,before Justice O.A Taiwo of the Lagos State High Court Igbosere on a two count charge bordering on Obtaining Money by False Pretence and Issuance of Dishonored Cheque to the tune of N7,369,600m {Seven Million Three Hundred and Sixty Nine Thousand,Six Hundred Naira}.The complainant,Alhaja Jumoke Yusuf,supplied a truck load of Vegetable Oil to the defendant to supply another company worth of N7,376,650.Out of this,she only made payment of N800,000.00 leaving balance N6,576,650.00 which she refused to pay.Consequently,the accused person allegedly issued a cheque in favour of the complainant.However,when the complainant presented the cheque,it was dishonoured due to insufficient funds in her account.One more picture.                                                                                      

ZIMBABWE'S WILDLIFE AUTHORITY,SUSPENDS ITS D.G OVER MISSING RHINO HORNS.

                              Zimbabwe's wildlife authority has suspended its director-general over missing rhino horns.The authority is investigating the disappearance of 228 kg of the agency's stored rhino horn.In a statement released today tuesday by the Zimbabwe Parks and Authority,Edson Chidziya had been sent on leave with full pay to facilitate the investigation.''The move has been taken to allow for an audit.This follows anomalies in the rhino horn stock piles amounting to 228 kilogrammes''.Zimbabwe keeps in storage 70 tonnes of ivory from elephants and rhinos-worth at least $35 million and is seeking support from neighbouring countries to engage in international trade in ivory.One more photo below.                                                                                                                                                            

50 CENT WAS ARRESTED ON SATURDAY IN THE CARIBBEAN,FOR USING THE 'F' WORD DURING HIS PERFORMANCE.

                  According to sources,on saturday during American musician 50 Cents Caribbean performance,sources said that 50 Cents had been warned not to curse during the performance but he went ahead to use cursing words ''MOTHER FUCKER'' which got him taken to the police station by cops and charged immediate.Not only 50 Cents but a member of his entourage was also held for using curse words.50 Cent had been booked to host the gig but the incident happened when he decided to treat the crowd to some songs.The rapper was due to leave the country on sunday but reports claim he was held until a court hearing on monday.As well as spending time in custody he's expected to have to cough out around £18,000.Rules in St.Kitts and Nevis prohibits swearing during concerts where young children may be present.Though the £18,000 might not be alot of money for him,but 50 Cents filled for bankruptcy a year ago.One more photo below.                                                

NIGERIAN ARMY KILLED 3 CATTLE RUSTLERS/ARMED BANDITS+RECOVERED A BAG OF CHARMS,YESTERDAY IN ZAMFARA.{PHOTOS}.

                                          Troops of 223 Battalion,1 Brigade under the auspices of Operation SHARAN DAJI of 1 Division Nigerian Army,today carried out fighting patrol to Kabaru village forest,Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara against cattle rustlers and armed bandits.During the patrol,the troops engaged armed bandits and killed 3 of them and wounded some.The troops recovered 20 motorcycles,4 empty cases of 7.62mm {Special } ammunition and 4 empty cases of 7.62mm {NATO} ammunition.Other items recovered include 1 mobile telephone handset,some rings and a bag containing local charms.The troops also carried out similar operation at in forests at Kusa,Bayan Dutse and Gusami general area in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of the same state.Although no armed bandit was killed,it is believed some of them have escaped with gun shot wounds.The troops however made the following recovery; 1 AK-47 rifle,1 AK-47 rifle magazine,13 rounds of 7.62mm {Special} ammunition,2 motorcy
