The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.       Ogun State Government has clarified the requirements for operations of boarding facilities in the Secondary Schools in the State as part of the overall requirements for the reopeningof schools for SS3 students on 4th August, 2020 as earlierannounced by the Government. In a release issued in Abeokuta on Sunday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs Ronke Soyombo, said the clarification has become necessary to remind the general public, particularly parents and operators in the education sector, of government position, which is based on the Guidelines jointly developed and agreed by parents, private school owners, government representatives and other stakeholders.       Preparatory to the planned resumption of terminal class students, the Lagos State Government has intensified the periodic fumigation/decontamination of all public secondary schools. A press release by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Environmental Services, Mrs. Aderonke Odeneye on Saturday stated that majority of the public secondary schools in the six educational districts have been reached. While adding that the exercise was part of the resumption protocol/guidelines for the secondary schools in the State, Odeneye emphasised that Lagos has continued to adopt measures to ensure that the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic is effectively contained. She said, "The fumigation exercise which is on-going preparatory to resumption next week for terminal classes will continue after the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) Exams. The periodic exercise which commenced in late June has been effected in all the Model Colleges across the six educational districts in the State”

Following the decline in positive cases, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has relaxed some of the lockdown measures taken by the State Government in response to the spread of the pandemic. In his 17th briefing on COVID-19 response held at the State House in Marina on Saturday, the Governor directed the re-opening of places of worship in the State, starting from August 7 for mosques and August 9 for churches.
