EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

BOKO HARAM RAIDS 3 COMMUNITIES TODAY IN BORNO STATE,KILLING 25 PEOPLE.

           It was reported today that at least 25 people were killed by suspected Boko Haram Islamist militants in raids on yesterday monday afternoon and tuesday morning on three communities in Borno state.Fighters in pick-up trucks attacked the town of Dille and two smaller communities in the Askira/Uba area in Borno state about 250km {160 miles} south of Maiduguri the capital of Borno state and the epicenter of the insurgency.Vigilantes resisted the attack on Dille that came around 1pm local time.A police source who declined to be named said the attacks on the smaller nearby communities came early today tuesday.

4 MAJOR RICE IMPORTING COMPANIES,SEALED UP TODAY BY THE NIGERIAN CUSTOM SERVICE.

                 Today tuesday,the Nigerian Customs Service {NCS} sealed the warehouses and business premises of four major rice importing firms over N23.6 billion unpaid rice duty and levies.The Public Relations Officer of NCS,Mr Wale Adeniyi,told a news conference in Lagos that the service would also not allow discharge of the companies import in any of the nation'd ports.The companies are Olam {Amuwo Lagos}.Stallion/Popular Foods/Masco Agro {Iganmu,Lagos,Ebony Agro {Wuse,Abuja} and Conti Agro {Victoria Island,Lagos.Adeniyi said that altogether the companies had imported a combined excess of 750,253,03 tonnes of rice,for which the service expected payment of extant duty and levies.The customs spokesman said the service had written the affected companies severally to notify them of their duty liability at normal rate if they exceeded their quotas.''                                             According to sources,Femi Gbajabiamila has emerged as the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives after he settled his dispute with the Speaker of the House of Representatives,Yakubu Dogara.The duo along with other members of the All Progressives Congress met with President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday monday to settle the lingering dispute in the Green Chambers.Shortly after the meeting Dogara stated that members of the party in the Green Chamber would proffer a lasting solution to the crises that has torn the party apart.According to him,he will continue to obey and abide by the party's position and decisions on matters concerning the National Assembly.He said ''I will always be by the party.There has never been a time that i never stood firmly by the party.So,like my chairman has explained,we are going to do it in consultation with the party and i'm sure that sooner than later we will have good news for Nigerians'

               Today tuesday,President Barack Obama made some comments in his first ever address by a US leader to the 54 member AU at its headquarters in the Ethiopian capital,Addis Ababa,Obama said ''Nobody should be president for life''..Obama said that Africa could not advance it its leaders refused to step down when their terms ended.His the first ever US leader to deliver a speech at the 54 member body,with security and action against terrorism dominating his agenda.Obama was welcomed by AU commission Chair,Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma saying that Africa claims Obama as one of the sons of the continent.In his speech,Obama called for an end to the corruption,saying it took money away from development.
