 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.   I have presented a N153.4 billion budget proposal to the Edo State House of Assembly, for the 2021 fiscal year, representing a 9.7% increase from the revised 2020 budget and comprising N94.8 billion for recurrent expenditure and N58.6 billion for capital expenditure. The budget document, christened, ‘Making Edo Great Again (MEGA) Budget', is exclusively pinned on robustly responding to the dislocations caused by the coronavirus pandemic, whilst building a workforce of the future. The proposed 2021 budget would address challenges in critical sectors of the economy, with increased targeted investments on the state’s most valued resource – its people. OYO STATE GOVERNOR INAUGURATED THE OYO JUDICIAL PANEL OF INQUIRY INTO POLICE BRUTALITY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  This afternoon, we inaugurated the Oyo State Judicial Panel of Inquiry into Police Brutality, Violation of Rights of Citizens and Unlawful Killings. The panel is made up of eleven (11) members led by Justice Badejoko Adeniji (retired), as Chairman of the Panel. Members of the panel are drawn from the legal community, the National Human Rights Commission, the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP), the National Youth Council of Nigeria, youth representatives of End SARS protesters and the community. This panel was constituted pursuant to Section 2 (1) of the Oyo State Commission of Inquiry Law Cap 32 of the Laws of Oyo State 2000 which empowers the Governor to set up a commission of inquiry. However, as the scope is beyond Oyo State, we are collaborating with the Federal Government. I encouraged anyone who has faced human rights abuse in the hands of any of the security forces to use this opportunity to seek justice.   A Nigerian father of two, Maduakor Wiseman Jesus said that the best way for men to punish their wives if they provoke them is by cheating with their relatives. "If your wife provokes you and you want to punish her cheat with her sister or relative and make her to find out, there is nothing more painful to them like cheating with their blood, they may not care if you cheat outside," he wrote. According to him, his wife left him and their infant baby after he cheated on her with her younger sister. "I don't post what does not work for me. She will be pained all the days of her life.   It was a sad day in Enugu state today November 9, as the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, joined the Catholic faithful and families of eight pupils of Presentation Nursery and Primary School, Awgu, who died in a recent fatal road accident in Awgu Local Government Area of the state, to celebrate a Requiem Mass for them at the school premises, in Awgu town. The accident happened on October 28. Gov. Ugwuanyi who described the eight pupils as “angles” bade farewell to them, their late teacher, Emmanuella Chukwugbo and the school bus driver, Chukwu Basil, as well as other victims. “Our children; our angels; had gone too soon and too suddenly; for no fault of their own. They were too innocent to have offended anyone; too young to have known sin; they only attended the day’s school; to acquire knowledge and high moral values; Yes, they were on their way home; to unite, as usual, with their beloved parents and siblings; a journey home that was never completed; what a tragedy!
