Man Bags 7 Years Imprisonment for False Information Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court today, April, 18, 2023, convicted and sentenced one Adamu Jatau to seven years imprisonment on charges bordering on giving false information. Jatau, ran into trouble when he sent a petition to the Commission claiming that he gave one Bulus Audu, a staff of the Kaduna State Geographical Information System (KADGIS)   the sum of N4,250,000.00(Four Million Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira)  to process his land documents, an allegation which turned out to be false. The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him. Justice Khobo sentenced the defendant to seven years imprisonment with an option of fine of N150,000.00. One more photo below.

EFCC Arrests Six Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja. They were arrested on Tuesday, April 18, 2023   in an early morning sting operation at Jahi and Dawaki axes of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, based on credible intelligence on their alleged criminal activities. The suspects are:  Emmanuel Ndubuisi, Solomon Tochukwu, Okotie Kingsley, Benedict Akor, Samuel Anosike and Samson Iffy. Items recovered from them include; one Mercedes Benz car; two Lexus RX350 and Toyota Camry.  Others are, laptops, mobile phones, one international passport and an expensive wrist watch. They will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded. More photos below.

22-year-old Zainab breaks Sokoto University record as the first female student to graduate with Frst Class in Physics  Zainab Abdullahi broke a record at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto when she earned her First Class Honours degree in Physics.  The 22-year-old was not only the sole female among the graduates who achieved this distinction, but also the first woman in the university's history to graduate with a First Class in Physics.  She had a remarkable CPGA of 4.81.

Man found dead in landing gear of aircraft originating from Lagos 18 April 2023  The body of a man was found in the undercarriage of a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines plane that flew from Canada to the Netherlands, according to reports Monday. The body was found in the landing gear of the plane after it arrived at Schiphol Airport outside of Amsterdam, the NL Times reported, citing airport authorities. The plane flew from an unspecified Canadian city to Amsterdam, but the same aircraft had recently been on the ground in Lagos, Nigeria before it was sent to Canada. It is also not clear in which city the man climbed into the landing gear mechanism and no crime is suspected. “The investigation is still ongoing and we are trying to find out the identity of the victim so that the family can be informed,” a Royal Netherlands Marechaussee spokesperson told the Dutch daily Telegraaf. The incumbent governor garnered 430,869 votes to beat Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  who scored 398,788. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had slated April 15th for the supplementary elections to complete the exercise after the process couldn’t be completed on March 18th. Woman shot dead after pulling into wrong driveway in US 18 April 2023  A man has been charged with second-degree murder in the US after he allegedly shot and killed a 20-year-old woman as the car she was in mistakenly drove up the man's driveway. Kaylin Gillis was with three other people in New York State on Saturday. They accidentally drove into the driveway of Kevin Monahan in the town of Hebron, police say. As the driver was leaving, Mr. Monahan, 65, allegedly opened fire on the vehicle, hitting Ms Gillis. “This is a very sad case of some young adults who were looking for a friend's house and ended up at this man's house who decided to come out with a firearm and discharge it,” Washington Country Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy told a news conference.  INEC Asks IGP To Investigate, Prosecute Adamawa REC April 18, 2023 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has asked the Inspector General of Police to investigate and possibly prosecute the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Adamawa state, Hudu Yunusa Ari over his action in the supplementary elections in Adamawa state.
